Regarding the COPR -- Not that we are anywhere near getting one, now that they doc requested us a couple weeks ago -- but does anyone know how long they give you to land in Canada, after you receive the COPR?

On our COPR it says issue date: June 3/2015 and valid to: Aug 19/2015.. DM happened online June 2 and the COPR was in the mailbox yesterday June 10.. Our medicals were done July 22/2014 so looks like they extended it a bit. Basically they gave us 2.5 months to land it would seem from the COPR issue date.

I'm really pulling for our class of September and hoping you guys/gals start getting good news asap!

Maria bravo on taking it to the news and making all this mess going on known! 8) I replied to your mail the other day via PM and hope you got it?

I was thinking the same thing that if we all were Jan 2015 applicants things would have been lots quicker, like how we were hoping and figuring on when we all first applied in Sept.. Back then it was thought 4-6 months should do it, NOT! As a Sept 24/2014 applicant my wife and I feel very lucky to have received COPR. I have no idea why ours went through while others before us in Sept are still waiting? We were very worried as we thought they may want to interview us as I am 19 years older than my wife. We were just lucky I guess and very thankful to have prayers answered..

I just saw!! Thanks.. I am truly happy for you and your wife. I was not expecting to still be waiting but I am happy to see some of our Sept peeps having COPR.

Wow! Looking forward to the story! Great job for getting this travesty out in the media.

Thank you - I hope it gets some awareness out there. I don't know how much good it will do for other visa offices but its time someone shines a light on Ottawa. They are slacking big time and people are paying with their life and families.

Thanks Dave. I wonder if the expiry date is contingent on the medical done date or the DM date?

My common law partner's medical was done on Sept 3/2014. Maybe that is why they feel they can take longer with ours than with, say, yours -- which would have expired earlier -- even though our applications were received just one day apart?

Just more speculation, who knows... I am just kicking myself that we followed the official instructions to the letter and did not send IMM5409 -- and I did not research the forums enough to know I should have sent it regardless of the official instructions. (Even though I did read tons and tons and tons of forum posts prior to preparing our application -- I must have simply missed that crucial advice to send IMM5409… It's like a needle in a haystack!)

Either the date of your medical expiry or the date of your passport expiry, whichever is closest. If your medical expiry is very close (under 4 weeks) they will likely contact you and ask can you land by a certain date and if you can, great. If you cannot they will extend your medical and then print your COPR based on the new medical date.

Regarding London being 28 months, it was updated in January to 29 months and they update it every quarter, in March it went down to 28!

This is to reflect the fact London has the Pakistan applications as they were rightly so letting London know their applications had been in London for more than 11 months, which was the timeline for London prior to January 2015.

However British applicants direct to London should still expect about 10-12 months for processing time, not 2.5 years!

I hope they extend my medical. I did mine end of July 2014.
Say I got DM sometime this month, that wouldn't be a good amount of time to purchase a flight. It's summer so airlines get more expensive this time of year and there's no way I can get a relatively cheap ticket if I only have say, a month to buy it.
And actually, it'd be less bc I want to stay in the states a few weeks to visit my family and sort out all my belongings.

My medical/COPR expiry was extended to 11 months after I received DM (so 4/29/2016) . It was due to expire on July 8th, 2015.

No clue.

I'm going to keep this short and post a more detailed update later.

Just wanted to let people know that I successfully landed by driving to the Carway border (Alberta/Montana) just this past Tuesday. It was drama filled, my husband I were made to feel like we were the reason the terrorists would win, and it was kind of awful. Basically it was, "We don't care what your paperwork says, or what your lawyer says, or what other people say. If you drive to the border to land, you're taking up valuable resources and preventing us from doing our jobs. You need to make an appointment through the CIC help desk and land at an office in Calgary." I'm paraphrasing, but not exaggerating. I'll post the particulars of that craziness later on. Still, so happy to be landed. Got my SIN on Wednesday and have been frantically applying for jobs every since.

My partner did his medical July last year, we have had no movement on our file since I was approved as a sponsor November 5th2014, is it likely he will have to do that again and pay the fees again? We paid everything upfront hoping it would make the application simple and easy to process, and feel like nothing is even getting looked at need some luck heading our way I think!

Oh no! I'm sorry you got treated that way. That is really ridiculous. You're outland so I don't understand why they wanted you to make an appointment to land...
Glad you got everything sorted though and things are looking up!

Similar for me! Did my medical end of July 2014 and my husband got approved as sponsor November 14th, 2014. Ours was later than most bc they accidentally filed us inland. We got an AOR bc of that, October 14th, 2014.
We thought we made ours easy and upfront as well... I guess not. -_-

Hi Cazzy, I am in the same situation... my application was received late October 2014 though, I did my medical last year July too. I hope they process our applications by the end of June! Fingers crossed! I currently reside in Quebec on a TRV ( though Outland applicant) Fed up of playing this waiting game! I honesty wish I was a fly, just to see what is Ottawa VO people are doing the whole day! Let's hang in there! Do you currently reside in Canada?

Hi Leah, Let's hope we will get our DMs by the end of June! My medical expires July this year too. Do you currently reside in Canada?
