What is an SA, Sponsor Approval?? Roughly how long does that take??

Looks like it's taking about 47 days according to the CIC website. I guess I'm too new to post a link but it's in there under processing times for family sponsorship.

HIGH FIVE! I hear that! Stress is over-ish. No longer in our hands :)

That is how we feel.. IT is no longer in out hands. Now it is in the hands of CIC! >.<

I was just thinking, I wonder if the updated-form situation will mean that some of us September people will get reviewed sooner. Since there seems to be so many people in both July and August who have received new form requests from CIC, that may mean that any applications with the new form will float to the top of the pile. It sucks for anyone who has to send the updated form, but may be a little treat for those of us who don't. Either way, I'd imagine that timelines for July-September applications will be slightly less predictable.

I doubt if it will make any difference, generally those with outdated forms are sent an email and asked to submit the new form. They seem to be speeding up the SA so as long as you have submitted all the correct forms you should hopefully be approved in around 6 weeks right now.

It took us 49 days from date of receipt by CIC to getting our SA for my wife.

I don't know but I made sure all my forms were up to date and I don't see anything new in Sept that us Sept people could have used. So lets keep our fingers crossed.

Me too. I made sure to triple check all my form version numbers against the CIC website before we sent off the application. Of course there is such a vast amount of paperwork in this process that there is that lingering feeling of forgetting something. So far, the only thing I know I forgot was to put one of the post-it notes on one stack of supporting evidence. It was tabbed/numbered/indexed though, so not a big deal. Hopefully the CIC officer is not as bothered by that error as I am at myself! ::)

Hello, do you mind provide a list of what you submited? I am a US citizen, my wife is a CAnadian PR.. ....

Our package was successfully received on September 4th, 2014! YAHOO!

Hi everyone!! We FINALLY filed our application!
Sent it Thursday, September 4th. Paid for priority with Canada Post. So it SHOULD have arrived the next day, but it didn't arrive until Monday, the 8th. And I JUST got confirmation that it arrived on Monday.
They didn't even get a signature.... -_-
Anyways, lesson learned. Don't use Canada Post. lol

I am so excited to finally be able to join one of these threads!!! :D

Yeah, I'm worried they lost ours. Paranoia. I always had faith in Canada Post until now. :( Feeling WORRIED! That the CIC doesnt even have it. Is there a number we can call?

Hey all,

I'm just wondering if anyone who has had an SA come through, does the CIC actually call your "current employer" to confirm the letter sent? Not that it matters, It's all true (lol) but I am moving to a new job November 1st, and will be gibing my notice at my current job. I will be making more money at my new job, but am just wondering if they will be put off that I'm changing jobs in the middle/ end of the 6 week SA approval time line... Thoughts? P.S. Erin in the Sponsor.. Danny is the PR Applicant.

Thanks Friends,

Erin
