in my case, I'm out of the country now with no job offer but I've a Canadian bank account with the minimum amount of funds needed. What if the officer ask me for a job offer? I'm planning to do my job hunting directly in Canada

CEC applicants do NOT need a job offer to land. Relax. I do not have a job offer and I still intend to land sometime in June this year. I too am out of country. Hope this helps :)

Some fellow applicants have mentioned that they were not asked for proof of funds during landing. It really depends on the officer at the border. Its always better to be prepared with all supporting documents though.

Just called the call center. An agent told me the due date on my file is October. I'm September 25 applicant. I think I'm gonna cry. Right now.

Hi Guys -

I got my PPR last week and immediately I send a request to change my wife's visa office to Islamabad on 24 Mar 2016, and am still waiting for a response for her.

Anyone in the same boat? Do you guys know how long one has to wait to get a response from CIC?

Thanks.

Hi all finally landed at 11.50pm on march 31st.. the feeling was unique as I have been waiting for 3 years for this day. Had no issues me and my wife got in and out within 20 minutes after flag polling. The CBSA officer was nice but she did ask for my bank balance and job offer letter. Told her that I was told by CIC that it is not necessary but she said she wanted to see our employment letter..but we showed her our bank accounts and the direct salary deposits on our phone.
So for anyone landing please just take ur paystub etc.
Thank you all for being so supportive in these stressfull times.. so some years down the line we will all look back and laugh about we overcame the stress.

Congratulations and good luck :)

Anyone whose passport reached CIC on 18th March and have received it back or have tracker activated yet???

Just finished my fingerprints at one of RCMP accredited fingerprinting companies yesterday morning. Anyone knows how long does it take to get the results from RCMP and it will be sent to CIC-Ottawa office?

Relax guys. My theory is they are swamped becuase of lots of recent PPRS. Lets wait util April 10th before concluding that they are froze again. :) :)

I feel like sitting on a Time Bomb. My work permit expire in June and Passport Expire in November. Not sure what should I renew first ;). If I renew my work permit fist. Chances are they will approve me for 6 months only. If I apply for my passport renewal Indian embassy takes 5 weeks. Hoping for a Ready For Visa so that I don't have to apply for a new WP.

I would say renew your passport first. I applied for work permit extension in february and my passport was expiring in 6 months. Last week they asked me to get a new passport so that they could continue processing the application... and I should submit the new passport within 7 days. Not very nice! :-X

Its very fast, they will send your RCMP result in 3 days, then you can forward that to CIC. At least they did the same for me.
