HEre is new news this might be again affecting us

The immigration department will now process all applications for Syrians received as of today with an eye towards getting a further 10,000 Syrians to Canada by the end of this year or early 2017. Just saw it on Global news

Our applications are almost processed. Doubt itll affect us.

But that is the reality ,,and did affect us so far with the processing time. If we hear something this weekend it means they are working on backlog. if not there is something going on with CIC ,,,,because since feb we did see updates every week.

This process is so much frustrating.....

Too simple, sometimes naive.
Even if it doesn't affect our applications (no doubt?), it will affect our lives in Canada.

I dont see any reason why they wont change....Let me give u a recent example....My Friend is from India....She has come to US 6 months back for study....She got the Passport request from Warsaw Office as she applied under FSWP and her file was being processed there....She sent an email back to them to change the visa office from Delhi to Warsaw....She got the reply in 5 days and has submitted the passport in New York...Even though, she applied under FSWP I feel that the process should still be the same for CEC....

Relax guys. My theory is they are swamped becuase of lots of recent PPRS. Lets wait util April 10th before concluding that they are froze again.

I feel like sitting on a Time Bomb. My work permit expire in June and Passport Expire in November. Not sure what should I renew first . If I renew my work permit fist. Chances are they will approve me for 6 months only. If I apply for my passport renewal Indian embassy takes 5 weeks. Hoping for a Ready For Visa so that I don't have to apply for a new WP.

Recently spoke to Agent.

1st Agent refused to open my file. 2nd Agent told me everything is passed, i am waiting for my final decision. Due date on my application is 4 April 2016. Lets pray and see what happens.

I also met one guy who didn't want to open my file.
He was just saying it took 3 months to check my medical results.

Same here. Everything passed and I should wait for finalization. The last agent I spoke to told me that none of the agents is supposed to tell us that we are in the finalization process - Not sure why - but the agent was very kind and I spoke to her a while, in the end she even laughed and told me all I can do is wait. I must have sound a little desperate, I guess. But if everything is passed, then I don't know what else we should be waiting for. So then, I am waiting.

I don't know how it works exactly. Is there only one officer responsible for our file or is it constantly assigned to somebody else once an officer completed the current review. E.g. review completed with officer 1, then new files coming in and the file goes to officer 2, who takes a look at what the previous officer did and goes from there?

Already applied the second one by Jan 8th.... logically that application should be picked up for processing next week... now they are working on Dec 29th online filings.....

Guys,
Don't ever consider waiting for PR instead of applying to 2nd or even 3rd BOWP. Just don't take this risk. CIC might make delays beyond your imagination. There is nothing to lose to proactively applying to BOWP.
If it's the $ holding you back, remember you may withdraw and get refund for BOWP before it gets processed in 3 months time, and if PR is on time. Entering the last 4 month of expiry? Just apply BOWP right away - just do it.
