    Medical requested TWICE

IRCC sent medical request to my parents in October 2020, and they have already completed medical exam in November 2020. Now, IRCC asked my parents to do a new medical exam, the same letter, the same form IMM1017. Their medical results don’t expire until November 2021, what the heck is going on...

Why a Canadian offer without a LMIA does not give me additional points?

There are several ways to increase your CRS: 1. Apply for PNP certificate asap, which will add 600 CRS, if you're not based in Alberta nor Manitoba. 2. Work for another year, or two, by then your experience in Canada will be 2-3 years and will add 25 CRS for cumulative Canadian experience. When...

    Canadian Experience class and AINP

You can, however employer driven stream AINP will take 17-18 months of processing, and it is worthless, it can not add 600 CRS to express entry. The federal PR processing time after AINP is 15 months. Nuff said.

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

You will get PPR by email, and after you send passport you get it back with visa and CoPR. You will provide your address on Canadapost Xpresspost when sending your passport, and therefore cic will send it back with both CoPR by mail to your address.

Yeah. In this case LIMA based WP doesn't even apply to the OP's request. OP may as well get ITA to express entry and immigrate, if his/her employer can get LMIA.

It is very hard to get open work permit, unless the applicant has strong intention and qualification to immigrate. Exceptions are post-graduate WP, spouse open WP, Co-op WP and refugees. Not sure LMIA based WP are closed or open.

    1. Yeah. express entry is the best way to do it, compared with sponsorship, humanitarian and refugee applications. If you're talking about economic stream only, in fact express entry is the only way to do it, besides AINP which does not allow express entry. 2. You can't gain work eligibility...

How likely is rejection at landing - Criminal Background

My take on this question is if the GCMS notes shows criminality passed and the charge was reviewed by a VO, there shouldn't be any problem.

Landing by flagpoling at Coutts, Alberta

Okay. Thanks for the heads-up. I will bring all my expired and current WPs just in case. Some of my expired study permits were confiscated by CBSA officer when he/she saw my newer valid study permits. So I don't have a continuous record of study permits and WPs in my hands now.

Landing by flagpoling at Coutts, Alberta

Last year I went to US for road trips from Coutts and the US officer was somewhat rude but the Canadian officer was nice and didn't check my car at all. As for the landing the Canadian officer asked previous WPs? This is not what I expected. I read many landing threads and no WPs were asked. We...

    Processing

LOL. For old CEC from 2014, 4 months+ can't even get a AOR from CIC, which EE applicants are receiving in 1 day. EE should take 5 months for DM, and another month for CoPR.

CoPR received just now. Took 15 days after our passports received by cic. Errors found on CoPR: Both mine and my wife's Original Entry Date are wrong. Mine was wrote to my recent entry to Canada as indicated in PR application. My wife's are wrote to 20 days beyond her first arrival date in...

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

Congratulations .. We're planning to land at Peace Arch too, by Victoria Day's week Thursday or Friday. How's the usual traffic there in day time? What are the rush hours? Did CBSA ask many questions?

Waiting for Passport - Please add your case here

With me checking Canadapost tracking every hour today, my Canadapost tracker activated just now. Exactly 14 days (and plus a few hours) after CIC received them. Timelines for those who'd like to refer: PPR: 2016-04-06 Passports sent: 2016-04-08 CIC received on: 2016-04-11 Tracking activated...

Waiting for Passport - Please add your case here

Really basic question: after tracker activated with Xpresspost and signature required, does Canadapost deliver to mailboxes, or postman requires signature at the door? Do we wait at home to sign the delivery?

Travel to US while waiting for PR Card

Correct. US Embassy might not have defined PR card must be in place to prove PR status. In this case the landing paper should do. OP may not have valid WP now, then without PR card the OP may have to apply for travel document to travel back to Canada.

Travel to US while waiting for PR Card

I am not sure about that. When I applied US Visa at the interview the VO asked for my status in Canada, which I showed my work permit. For PRs they have to show PR card as the proof of visa status in Canada.

Coop work permit ? Work permit

Coop work is already full-time work, but it is not permanent work. I don't get how you plan to use a 4-month Co-op WP to work permanently. Are you actually on co-op full-time job? If so you do not need to worry about whether your Co-op WP can be used in permanent job, as your WP ends, your...
