Can we check our status online. For example I have seen other people's posts that "My status is showing in progress". How can we check status of our file? Is there any online way to register our UCI and check the status? Please help if anybody knows.

If you sent by express post, did you send it to "49 Dorchester Street Sydney, NS B1P 5Z2 Canada" or "P.O. Box 4000 Sydney, NS B1P 1J3 Canada"?

This is the first time I have to submit an application by mail and not online, so I'm not sure but it looks like you can check it here https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas

It'll take about 2 months to get any notification from CIC.

That's the eternal question. Why does CIC take so long to process things? After 2 years in Canada I still don't know the answer. I guess they have more applications every year and they don't increase the number of people working on them. At least we 'only' have to wait one year. PR for the live-in caregiver program is 39 months.

The only way to check your application status (that I know) is 3 posts above this answer https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas

It's impossible to know how long it's going to take for the AOR. So the best thing is to check other months applications. I say 2 months because that's what my representative told me it's taking for other clients ;)

the website can be opened, but when you query, it went crashed.

I think they just need a reason to enroll more CIO officer or as we have saw the strike in 2013, they need more salary, why don't they just increase the application fee if they think it take them lots of time. here a pair of glasses need 400 more dollars .

Sent application by regular mail through canada post on sep 3, application was received today sep 8th.

Application sent. Wohoo!! Good luck to everyone!

Change in tracker: revised "time taken to receive AOR" to 55 days.

I hope CIC will speed up a bit with the AOR's.... I need to get mine before Nov 5th

Hello,

My work permit expires on Oct 1. PR CEC application received on 02 Sep. I dont think I will be getting the AOR before my WP expires and I have to fly back to my home country.
I am planning to take a chance and apply for paper BOWP this week itself for self only. And fly back.

Assuming the BOWP application is processed in about 4/5 weeks, the AOR would be in place by that time...

But I will not be in Canada at that time ? Will the BOWP be issued in that case ?

The CEC web site says : "Travelling outside Canada: If you have applied to extend your work permit and plan on traveling outside Canada while your application is in process, you can leave and come back"

Has anyone faced this situation....

In order to avoid risk, I am planning to apply BOWP for self only... and apply for spouse and child later on.... is this fine ?

Let me know your experiences...

Regards,

Kumar.

I sent my application to Sydney on 29-Aug-2014 and the package was delivered on 4-Sep-2014
