Hi ib90...ib90 said:Thanks!
Correct, I'm from India - I need a visa - and I applied from within Canada (Toronto, specifically).
Perfect, thanks! =)AGS4006 said:Hi ib90...
make it simple..go to Canada post get one Xpresspost envelop and take out signature required option from that envelop(canada post person will do that for you) and put all 4 things ur passports, photo, copy of the letter u got from CIC and return envelop and send it to PO Box address. Believe in Canada post and send it , keep tracking your mail though. I think many of us hv done it same way.
What is the reason for "take out signature required option " ?AGS4006 said:Hi ib90...

When do you plan to land? Note that the eTA process has been postponed to later this year in fall.budpee said:Also, for peeps from visa-exempt countries, do we have a different landing procedure? I remember receiving a mail from CIC a few months ago that if you are from visa exempt country, you need to get an ETA before entering Canada.
budpee said:Hello Everyone
I read a lot about people from visa-exempt and non visa-exempt countries, and how they receive different kind of confirmations for Application approval. I am from a visa-exempt country- Australia, but my wife is from a non visa-exempt country- India, but we applied for PR under CEC together. I am the principal applicant and she is on the application as my spouse. Will the process differ for both of us?

We just went with xpresspost from Canada post and included the same paid envelope inside and the next day the documents were delivered, and we live in Edmonton! I wouldn't take "signature required" option as you are sending to post office box, but not to a person.ib90 said:Hi guys!
Long time lurker, just joined to post some good news and ask a quick question!
I just received my Ready for Visa email on the 16th, and my ECAS changed to 'Decision Made' late night on the 17th.
My question -
Note: I'm from India (Visa required), but am applying from within Canada (Toronto). The CIC says, in the Ready for Visa email, to "Submit all documents by mail in a single package and send to the following address: CPC – Ottawa – PR, PO Box 9780, Ottawa ON, K1G 4B9." Does anybody here know if that means it has to be a standard piece of mail? Can it be a courier requiring a signature? I know they ask for an Xpresspost return envelope, but I'm wondering about how all of the documents and the passport is sent to the CPC in the first place. I was thinking of doing it via courier, but they don't mention a separate address for courier, which makes me think it has to be by regular mail. Any help clearing up the uncertainty would be appreciated!
Here's my timeline for anybody curious:
Sep 12, 2014 - Application Received
Jan 29, 2015 - AOR date
Feb 13, 2016 - Upfront RPRF
Feb 23, 2016 - Medical Request
Feb 23, 2016 - NOA/T4/Pay Stubs Requested
Mar 02, 2016 - Medicals Done
Mar 11, 2016 - NOA/T4/Pay Stubs Submitted
Mar 15, 2016 - Medicals Received
Mar 16, 2016 - Ready for Visa Email
Mar 17, 2016 - ECAS "Decision Made"
The wait and stress is almost over guys!
Better not to make the things complicated to save just a couple bucks. Canada post guys know it very well. Just ask them for xpresspost with return envelop. You will get a signature acknowledgement even it is a PO box.A_Wonder said:We just went with xpresspost from Canada post and included the same paid envelope inside and the next day the documents were delivered, and we live in Edmonton! We are sending it to PO Box address , I took it out anticipating that there will not be a person available to sign the delivery if its PO Box address.Sam_2016 said:What is the reason for "take out signature required option " ?
