I hope this helps if anybody is in a similar situation:

Got ECAS updated last week (on Oct 17) saying that they made a decision related to the Sponsor Approval on Oct 10 and that they sent a letter; until today (11 days later) we received an email with the Sponsorship Approval info.

(I was freaking out wondering if CanadaPost may have misplaced the letter or something) :P

if they sent u thru email, u wont recieved it through the mail anymore.. if u provided your email to them, they sent all the info thru email. it stated on the letter on mine. they wont send any letter aside from email.

That's awesome! Congrats!

Thanks, just a note to other applicants, the FIRST thing NDVO does is a passport request, unlike other offices, where it is the last item on the list. So this is equal to an AOR from the visa office.

Yeah, and if I may ask, did you checked your spam folder already? Maybe the email from CIC on the sponsorship approval is in there.
You might want to check it in your email. :) :) :)

From the NDVO only passport requests from Feb-May are getting their visas, so I'm not holding my breath. They can still call you for an interview or ask for more documents after the passport request.

Hi Good day everyone! I'm from the Philippines and my husband (Filipino but a permanent resident in Canada) is sponsoring me under Family Class. He received an email from CIC that our application was received Sept. 26, 2013. Since then we haven't heard back from them. I'm starting to get worried because there are some Oct applicants whose sponsorship's have already been approved and forwarded to the Manila Visa Office while our application hasn't been moving. I checked our online status in the CIC website and it states "application received". What should we do? Any suggestions? Do we call them to follow up?

Manila Visa Office
Medical exam: Sept 5, 2013
Received in Mississauga per courier: Sept 25
Received by CIC per email and online status: Sept 26
Sponsorship approval: ??
Forwarded to Manila visa ofc: ??
Passport request: ??

My husband will call CPC-M tomorrow morning local time. It will the 29th day tomorrow since AOR :(
A friend of mine whose application was received Oct. 2, 2013, their application was already forwarded to Manila visa office last Oct. 17, 2013. I am happy for my friends but I am really anxious on why we haven't received approval for our sponsorship yet.
Our marriage is legit and we have been together for the past 8 years.
My husband migrated to Canada November 2012. He has a few jobs (no regular work hours yet), he is financially capable too and is not receiving any financial support from the government. He is living with his Uncle as of the moment because we are planning to get our own place only when I get there. What could it be??? :( :(

in ur ECAS can you see the word "Decision MAde" under Sponsorship Approval?? IF Yes try to click the underlined word then you will see some info.
Dont you worry Fhnbutterfly, in my case we dont even received any notif thru my hubby's (sponsor) email. Its been 32days then when i found out i can open ECAS using my hubby's UCI# then it shows there the word Decision Made, then when i clicked it its stated that our apps received Sept 4 (also the date when we submitt our apps to CPC-M), then it also says that they going to send a letter on Sept24 w/ regards the decision for the sponsor. But unfortunately we dont get that letter either, so i decided to email them @ Question@cic.gc.ca to followup, then they replay after 3business days and re-send the email with SA and said that apps will be forward to manila.

it just says "Application Received" in the status for both "Sponsorship Application" and "Permanent Resident Application"

:(

Mine took long too but i was not too worried . Infact mine took longer than most september applicants ( or all i think ). Best thing to do is to call them up and tell them the avg processing time has passed and you still haven't heard anything. My ecas updated the very next day after i called them in each case of AOR and approval.

Don't worry about this. If you start worrying now you will be a mess by the time this process is completed. One thing that is certain is that the ecas is not reliable. It is not always updated - sometimes not updated at all throughout the whole application process.

Our ecas, for example, shows "Application Received" and doesn't show anything else. However, we have had sponsorship approval and the PR application is currently in process with the VO.

The 27 days is an average and doesn't mean that every sponsorship application is processed in 27 days. Some take less time, some take a little longer. If you gave email addresses then keep checking your email and check that emails are not being sent to spam or junk folders. If CIC correspondence is coming by post, allow extra time - it might not be posted to you for a week after approval and then you need to allow for the time it takes for mail to get to you.

Seriously, don't worry about what ecas says. There are people here that never got an updated ecas even after PR was approved. If you don't hear from CIC by the end of this month it would be worthwhile sending an email though.

My husband did call CPC-M just a few hours ago and they said that they are currently working on Sept 19 AORs. He told them that other applicants whose AORs are later than ours, have already been forwarded to their respective visa offices.. and they said that "some applications just fall into exemption time" and that these are chosen randomly. Wow really? You guys are all lucky. I guess we're the only ones here who weren't randomly chosen. Anyway, she said only to worry and call back when it says on the website that they are working on Sept 26 AORs and there is still no change in status.
Could the date of marriage matter? We got married just August this year.

Thanks! Reading this somehow calmed my nerves. Yes I might be a little too paranoid now but I really do hope everything turns out fine. Thank you again

I just checked the CIC website (cic.gc. ca/english/information/ times/ perm-fc.asp) and they just updated it.. It now says they are processing applications received on Sept. 26, 2013. I hope we will be able to get a positive answer by next week. Ill keep you guys updated. :) congrats by the way to all those who got their applications moving!
