I recently heard the 2 year quote as well. Must be standard comment to avoid getting people's hopes up.
Or, it stops people from phoning every week or two. It must take a lot of time out of the work day if they're having to answer the same questions week after week with nothing new to tell them.

Enjoy summer, peeps. Winter is coming!

This thing happens usually. I have seen when they receive a huge volume of calls , they answer the applicant's question with standard sentences such as this 2-year waiting time. Even, the agent told you need to wait for 2 years after you have received the acknowledgement letter !!! which is completely ridiculous. According to CIC , the estimation time published on their website covers from receiving applications till oath ceremony .

Hi All,

I know that the CIC call agents says that you should wait 2-3 years after receiving a RQ.

For my case, I got the test 2 months after submitting the RQ. Meaning, that what the call agents says are not justified.

Yep, this 2-year statement, shouldn't be that accurate. They keep saying that to get rid of applicant's calls.
However, I'm not so sure when they call us to write the best and how long this damn procedure takes!
Good luck everybody and keep posted.

Let's enjoy the last of day of long weekend :)

Today I called cic and a stupid and rude agent told me that my file is already transferred to local office in Jan. I knew he was wrong so I called again and another agent who was so polite confirmed that my file is still in Sydney . and he added: however they may transfer your file and send invitation letter to gather . so you may got your invitation letter soon. I don't know if what he said is even possible.
Also he confirmed that since January it hasn't been any activity on my file .

Thanks for the update.
Where is your local office ?

I noticed CIC has updated their processing time a few days ago.
They hope in 1 or 2 years not to have any backlog any longer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic summer so far in PEI. Great place to visit in summer time.

Sent application September 23, 2013
AOR October 30, 2013
In Process March 11, 2014
(no test required due to age)
File is in Halifax. All documents are verified.
Waiting for who knows what to happen ;-) :-X

Weather is good . It doesn't look a summer though, mostly like a Hot Fall!
I was in Niagara Falls on weekend , that was great ...
How about you ?

It's been really warm in Vancouver. I am hot and sticky all day long.
