Guys I am thinking about the recent speed of processing our files.

Remember last year, around June-July the strike started. A lot of cases suffered long wait because of that. The strike lasted about 3/4 months. When the strike ended - I am thinking CIC had Extra people working to cover up some grounds. When they felt they have covered their grounds, all those EXTRA people were re-assigned else where. And now CIC is back to it's original speed.

Also remember CEC process was supposed to take around 12-13 months. But now we have only passed our 7th month. Some of the lucky ones are going to get their Visa very soon. Those are rare cases. Most CEC applicants will take 10months+ . And it will be quicker still, cause in theory we are supposed to wait for 12-13 months.

I guess what I am trying to say is, even though some of you are waiting for MR (including me), we still have a lot of time left on our timeline. The way things were moving, we thought our processing will be over with in 8months+ . But as we can see now, CIC has gone back to it's initial speed.

correct me if I'm wrong but before, most people under cec usually used to get medicals in/after about 8 mnths and now there are still sep 1st week applicants waiting for medicals. Normally, they would get medicals in May 1st week. but some lucky ones got it faster. I don't think getting medicals 2 weeks earlier is too fast processing anyway. Looks like CEC is slowly getting back to their normal speed.

There is also another factor here: the new EOI system will theoretically replace all current immigration streams from 2015. Before that, how would CIC want to handle all of us under the old system? Maybe they are trying to avoid manually transferring applications into the new system as it creates confusion and extra work, so they want to process as many old system applications as possible.
Or maybe, the EOI system doesn't have anything to do with the speed.
Just throwing thoughts here... Open to discussion :)

What is an EOI system though?

Toby,

I had made my RPRF payment upfront. Please update it in the spreadsheet.

Regards Suraaj

I had made the payment when I had filed my application.

I respect all speculation you made with regard to the slowed down process. My take on this is that people work in their offices at different pace; sometimes they are fast and sometimes they are slow. Also, there are many out there who have never come across this forum. They might have received MR etc. We can't analyse the situation because we simply do not have enough information. I think we all need to be a little more patient.

My noc is 6422 (cook), but i was lucky enough to send my application and receive aor before the big change last November.. I wonder if there are Sept. Applicants with same noc who got MR already..Oh i dunno.. It's just frustrating.. Waiting's a b**ch.. Have a niceday to all!

Dortmund borussia needs one more goal.

Maybe some of the VOs are watching the Champions League too, and that's why it's been slow today :D

I heard that it's a little like the system in Australia/New Zealand? So if they actually go as planned, then CEC, skilled worker etc will all be merged into the new system in January 2015.
