I got that same email WITHOUT booking an appointment.
In fact, I was supposed to go to Niagara tomorrow (already filed for a VL). Then I got that email last Monday for a landing appointment next week.
Well then if you didn't request it don't pay attention to it or... you can do as nov1061 suggests.

Hi Toronto2013

How are you doing? What happened with your case? Have you received your Passport request? Is everything done?

Cheers,
Kunishsa
Hi Kunishsa,

Thanks for checking :) I received the reply to my query stating that background verification is on. When my local MP enquired, he too received the same response. So I am back to waiting.

Oh Sad....Let us hope all your patience and wait might turn fruitful sooner than later. I wish you should have been landed by now. But don't worry. All your pain here with PR might pay you back with your Citizenship. You should (must) be the first person when all our September family starts turning our PRs into Citizenships in future. I seriously wish.

Best of luck with your rest of the processing.

Cheers,
Kunishsa

Yes I had to meet in person and sign the consent form. They enquired the same day and reverted with response.

Hi Kunishsa,

Did you apply for a second BOWP? My current BOWP will expire in March 2015. So I am wondering whether to apply within 4 months of expiry or wait till the last week and apply.

Thanks

I have not applied for my second BOWP. I wanted to wait till the last minute. Fortunately, I was able to land couple of weeks before my current BOWP expiry. I would suggest you not to waste your $ 150 if you still have 3+ months validity. Looks like the processing time is less than 20 days anyway. I am sure you will be landing before that.
