Hello All,
Got my passport back with the visa. Now have to finish the landing process. Sent the passport on the 21st got there on the 23rd and they sent it back in the 31 st.
I am thinking of driving down to the boarder and do the landing process.
What documents do I need just in case?
Any advise would be appreciated.

Regards

Hi Befakih

I carried all our passports, CoPRs, Old work permits and Birth certificates. However the officer took only our passports and CoPRs. He didn't ask for our old work permits or any other documents. I did landing at Rainbow bridge last week. There are few people here in this forum mentioned that they were asked to submit their work permits as well.

Cheers,
Kunishsa

Hi guys.. I recieved PPR last week and mailed my PP to Ottawa.. When PP is returned back with Immigrant Visa and CoPR..

Then you can just go to the any border right away as soon as you recieve your PP.. or you have to make an appoitment first? Or are there any special days when you can do landing..

Can you guys please advice on this.. Thanks

Hi Toronto.111

As soon as you get your passports back, you are good to land. I did my landing immediately after I had received our passports. There is no restriction on day or time for landing. However if you don't want to go to border for landing, then you need to call them and book an appointment with any of their offices where you can finish off your landing formalities without crossing border. Etobicoke is the nearest CIC office which offers landing for Toronto people.

Cheers,
Kunishsa

Yeah... as Kunishsa said, there are no restrictions.

I landed two months later from reciving my CoPR...

So you can do it as it fits best.

CIC replied to my query today. Basically there has not been much progress. Below is their response:

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

We have verified the information provided. We can provide you with the following details concerning the status of your application for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class:

The application was received at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on September 13, 213.
Initial assessment has been finalized and the application has been transferred to the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, on March 28, 2014.
Medical results were requested on March 28, 2014 day.
Background verifications are currently in process.
Centre in Ottawa is 13 months for this category. It should be noted that this processing time is meant to provide an approximation of the length of time it has taken CIC to finalize an application.
We hope this information is helpful.

Sincerely,

Jalex23 & Kunishsa,
If I plan to do my landing tonight, do I need to have a US visa to do it at the boarder?

Please advise the steps I need to take for landing at the boarder.

Thank you

Hi Bafakih

You don't need to have a US visa. I did landing last week without US visa. Carry the documents like Passports, CoPRs, Old Work Permits. You can go and cross the border. US officers will give you a white paper. You just need to get back on Canadian side and submit at CBSA. If you are driving, you dont need to get out of your car. If you are walking and crossing the bridge, look for the way from where to go to US side.

Best of luck with your landing.

Cheers,
Kunishsa

Hi Kunishsa,
Did they ask for all old work permits or the last one only? Thanks

Hi All,
I finally finished my landing this weekend. For there in the afternoon. The experience was good except for the waiting period. Crossed into US for flag polling and then went towards the Canadian side. The waiting period was about 2.5 hours but once our turn came the process took 10 mins. All they asked us was for our COPR and passports. No other document was asked. But I took all my old passports, lease agreement, all my work permits and passed utility bills along with all Notice of assessments.
Thanks to all here and best of luck to the folks who are still.
I wonder if Vishal got his PR?
