Just landed, now officially a permanent resident! ;D ;D ;D

Good luck to everyone else. For me it was only 45 days from "started processing" to completed application. My guess is that everyone who has gone into processing at CPP-O will be permanent residents by April.

I will write up a big post explaining the whole process since despite many hours searching, I did not actually find any really detailed posts like this.

As for my earlier question about spouse landing. The definitive answer (I asked 3 separate Canadian border agents) is that it's fine for your spouse/dependents to land separately from the principal applicant. There are only three restrictions on landing as PR:

1. The principal applicant must land first or at the same time as dependents.
2. You must land before expiry of your CoPR + Immigrant Visa (mine would have expired approx 12 months after "Decision Made" date).
3. You cannot land in Quebec unless you have a Certificat de sélection du Québec.

Congratulations ta2...All the best for great future in Canada...

Quick question -
I came to Canada from US in my car, and had the other one shipped. No duties were paid that time since I was on TWP.

When I land, will I be required to pay any fees? What documents do I need to carry?

Both my cars have ON insurance, title and registration.
Thnx in advance........

Hi guys ,
I recieved mail from CPP to complete RCMP Police Record (with Fingerprints) , what is the procedure? and how to obtain it
please advice

oh man this is making me really nervous. I did my medicals on December 4th, and still have not seen that elusive 3rd line. I called CIC and they said they received my medicals on December 30th, however still no update on eCas.

It's kind of strange, since you got the 3rd line in ecas which means you passed the security check already ...

Anyway how to complete RCMP Police Record depends on where you live, it's all in the website vik81 provides.

Guys, I have realized, CIC follows more than one Standard of Work process. It is not always the identical procedure for all the applications; apparently it varies to certain degree. Process is not dependent on timelines – submitted by applicants; process is randomized within the stratified lot.
Hence, there is least to be impatient about the status, let’s all hope to reach the desired goal – Getting PR
In this thread, most the Applicants have reached Medicals
one more step to go ........ :) :) :)
