I just called CIC and they said our application is in process currently and he gave me a client ID number!!!! OMG I soooooooo can't wait to hear something!! This is good news to us though

Well, officially they are "in process" for sponsorship. I was the one jumping to conclusions and thinking they got approval already, I'm sorry

We all just want it to happen so badly that we're starting to see things, lol.

I tink it's about time too that the first September people get approved. It's been 74 days for crisetphil and ermn, and 73 for Marco2011 and Quince777.
That's over the approval mega-timeline of 70 days (down to 68 now).

It seems to vary greatly how long it takes to actually receive the news of the approval, after it happens. I know some people call CIC and actually manage to get some answers, others wait a month or longer for the actual approval snail mail letter, while others get the approval through email and some even don't seem to hear anything, ever.
So it's possible that a good portion of us already got approved but just don't know it yet.

I just tried just for fun, but cant get even get in line to wait, it just drops me. I guess it probably better to call as soon as they open (which I think is 8am).

Finally did get through, but they wont even check my status as the web site says they are processing Aug 31st! Pretty much what I was expecting from them...a miracle would have been nice, but she didnt even want to check anything until my date was passed. At least she was pleasant.

Oh well! We just have to for the Wednesday update to see when we are "allowed" to call!

There is something i dont understand, isnt it the way that when you get a CIC number, you got approved.
Why would they give you a CIC number when you get a rejection for sponsor approval?

Can be me, but maybe im getting nuts while waiting ??? ???

I think they give your file a number as soon as they open it, which will be as soon as they will be assessing your sponsorship.

Relax, they won't reject your sponsorship. Try calling them again on Wednesday or Thursday. If your sponsorship is in process now, I assume they'll have approved it by then, and if not they'll be close.

That's what he told me originally too... but then I said "well I know someone who sent their application in on Sept 7th and they got an approval already so can you just check the status please?" and he did! Try that, they will look.

The answer you get depends partially on what shows up on the CIC call center system, and partially on whom you're speaking to. Not everyone who makes the phonecall will get the same answer in the same situation. It is very random.

The anxiety is killing me, let's hope for a great week for everyone, including the CPC-M staff so they have focus and energy to review lots of applications!
