Hello friends,
I am an international student on a study permit. I got married and sponsored my wife to canada where she applied a work permit and got a job and is financially independant. We applied for our PR application together where I am the principal applicant. Few months back she left the house on the instigation of her mother while I was in school and has started living separately. She blames me for having an abusive relationship where as the truth is that while im still a student she feels Im a burden on her. Now im worried about few things...1) Do we need to remain separated for a year so that we can automatically apply for divorce if it is amicably done. If so wont it look like an arranged marriage to get PR. As per my knowledge once I get a divorce I cannot get married for the next 5 years which is not the case with women 2) The law always favours the woman so how can I prove that I haven't done anything abusive. 3) What happens if I notify the canadian immigration of our separation, do we still loose our complete application. I dont want her to get penalized either. She has her work permit and is elligible to apply for the PR alone. 4) What are your suggestions for me if you were in my place.
