Separated from Spouse; When Allowed to Sponsor another Spouse

Hello folks,

If a principal applicant and his spouse gets their PR in Canada, and then they obtain a divorce, how soon can the principal applicant (who is now PR) sponsor his next spouse? Is there a time-bar?

Something makes me think 5 years? But that's not a definite. Although sponsoring a second spouse will throw up some huge red flags to the visa officer!!

There is no wait time if the sponsor immigrated to Canada through one of the economic programs and his/her ex-spouse was a dependant.
