Sending passport from USA to Canada

So I followed the instructions above for the return label.
I sent using USPS because they dont have any trouble delivering to po box.

I'm waiting for a reply from IRCC as I don't want to send using USPS. Otherwise I can ship my dependents passports from within Canada using Canada Post with I'm there later this month.

Were you able to get something trackable from USPS?

Thanks Mike! On sending the passport to a PO Box - I'm sending from US, and the address is not a PO Box. For sending it from insider Canada, its a PO Box address.

Thanks. In my case, my dependents are in the US and was requested to send their passports to a PO Box. I requested IRCC for an aternative send to address but they responded with instructions on how to create the return label. I requested again from them so I will see. I can infer that the address is the same as the ship from address but I want to get it from them in writing. Anyway, if I don't get a resolution from them then I will send it to the address for sending from within Canada when I'm in Canada later this month.

Were you able to get something trackable from USPS?
yeah, USPS handed over the Canada post and I got detailed tracking from their site as well. So no complaints.

Hello guys I submitted my passport . I am inland applicant and I submit Annex A as well. But I submitted without barcode on it. Is it going to be an issue??

I did the same mistake as you, sent Annexure A without barcode...what happened in your case...would it be a problem...please advise...

Do we get a confirmation when CPCO receives the passport? I'm a bit worried as my online application does not show the email notification on PPR and I have sent my passport to CPCO-PR.

Nope.

Only after the application is approved do you know the passport was processed.

Here is a response I receive from IRCC only today which was already posted by another forum member. However IRCC didn't answer my question because I was looking for a non PO Box address to send the passport. Anyway, hope this helps you:

To purchase a FedEx online shipping label please create an account on the FedEx website https://www.fedex.com/en-ca/home.html.



1) Ctrl-Click on “Ship now” under Ship section;

· If you already have a FedEx account, sign in and then select “Ship now” under “Shipping” tab



2) Click on “Ship Lite” under “FedEx Ship Manager Lite” section



3) Fill in the ship “From” address section with the CPC-Ottawa mailing address as below;



· First Name: KEEP YOUR OWN NAME

· Company: Leave blank

· Country: Canada

· Street Address: 365 Laurier Ave West

· Apt/Etage/Bureau/Suite: Leave blank

· Postal Code: K1A 1L1

· City: OTTAWA

· Province: Ontario

· Phone: KEEP YOUR OWN PHONE NUMBER

· Email notifications: KEEP YOUR OWN EMAIL ADDRESS

· Tax ID no.: Leave blank



4) Fill in the ship “To” address section with YOUR OWN MAILING ADDRESS DETAILS and YOUR OWN PHONE NUMBER;



5) To avoid additional fees, Check “This is a residential address” under “Perform detailed address check



6) Select “item”: FedEx Envelope, 0.2 kg. Carriage value: Leave blank.



7) Select “SHIP DATE”: If not today or tomorrow (further in the future)



8) Select the fastest delivery service offered in your region



9) For pick-up, select Item #3 – Use an already scheduled pickup at my location

DO NOT SELECT “Schedule a pickup”



10) Shipment payment Method:

This is the billing payment method that will ensure the return of your documents

I was very confused how to send passports after reading through the various posts in the forum and this is the only post which clearly elucidates how to send stuff to CPC Ottawa. I therefore have a set of questions, would you please bear answering them for me :

This is the procedure to be followed for return prepaid envelope label from CPC Ottawa -> USA , right ?

In the FROM above - We put our first name even though its being mailed by CPC Ottawa?

The URL https://www.fedex.com/en-ca/home.html is for opening account with country defaulting to CANADA , for users in US we should be using https://www.fedex.com/en-us/home.html ?

Were these instructions from IRCC that you have mentioned above ?

For sending passports to Ottawa from US should Fedex agent do it at the store for or should we print it as well ?

Thank you so much mike2236. This post was so helpful.

I just created the FedEX account using US Fedex URL - https://www.fedex.com/en-us/home.html and used Fedex Ship Manager Lite to fill in information but did not submit it .

I then went to a FedEx store and the agent helped me at every step where ever I had doubt.

Only thing he mentioned to input Carriage Value = 10 Dollars since US customs always expect some value for documents coming inward.

There were 7 pages of document printed and the rest was taken care by the agent.

Yes, the above instructions was from IRCC. It was provided as a response to a CSE.
