Send originals for Spousal Sponsorship application

Most of the documents we have and want to use as proof for the spousal sponsorship application have no real value to us and sending them to the notary to certify the copies is quite expensive where I live. Therefore, I'd like to know if it's acceptable to send originals with our application in order to avoid the need for certifying those copies.

We don't expect those papers back at all, they can keep them all for all I care (I think they do keep them). So is it acceptable to send originals and no copies?

What is it that you need certified? Do you have country specific requirements?

Personally I would only send photocopies for whatever I can only because if they lose something or want something resent then you will have he original to photocopy once again or if they request the original you can then send it...
I did however send my original police certificate and kept myself with a photo copy of it.

Oh I see.
In that case I would definitely keep a copy just in case something goes missing and you can get them re certified.
