That is a bit reassuring. But it should be mandatory for all non Canadian mothers to provide a DNA test when claiming to have a child by a Canadian man. Definitely just my opinion.

I don't agree personally. There are many cases where a DNA test would be excessive and it's quite clear who the child's parents are. Making DNA tests mandatory would increase costs for applicants - also increase wait times and processing times for applications. The cost for IRCC to process these cases would increase which is only partially offset by application fees - so the rest would come out of all of our pockets as tax payers. Doesn't make sense. IRCC agents are trained and perfectly capable of determining which cases require DNA tests and which don't.
