Hi Friends, my SP was refused.

Biometric completed : June 20, 2022 - (Blore-India), Medical passed : Aug 11, 2022,
Review of eligibility, Final decision : 13 Sep 2022: Refusal

My Background: Aged 19, A Levels, secured admission for BEng (Computers) in Concordia, Montreal, IELTS :7, ample funds.

Refusal Reason :
The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application

Reapplied Today with Justification.

Make sure to request GCMS notes, they might help you to get some insight about why the VO refused your application. Hopefully, in the new application you are addressing the specific VO's concerns.

My first rejection: 27 march 2022.
Refilling date: 19 June 2022

my medicals expire in one month. Does IRCC approve student visa without asking for medical profile update before it expires? Or do they ask for the medical updates?

A question to all those who've already received their student permits:

I checked my GCKey today and even though I received my PPR a month ago, I saw that I still need to submit a form called IMM 5257. Is anyone else also seeing this? If yes, are you submitting it despite having your visa or are you ignoring it?

Here's a screenshot.

I've been watching your posts and I can't believe you received a refusal... However, after reading your post, I'm confident you will overcome this obstacle and you will achieve your goal. Reaching a goal is more persistence than anything else so now is the time to take a step back, define a new strategy and give it a second go!

I think somebody posted in the forum that they received their GCMS notes faster requesting them through CBSA than IRCC. Maybe you could request both at the same time.

Also, you should do some research about immigration through studies to countries like Finland for example. They recently introduced a law that basically makes the process of getting PR after studies very easy for international students. Also, they have a Visa approval rate of 97% (the 3% are refused for not having funds or criminal reasons). Also, they have some very affordable tuition fees. This could be a good plan B or C hehehe...

Lastly, if I can be of help, feel free to reach out! I'll be more than happy to help you out in any way that I can! You've got this!!!

Thank you so much @Geet7 as always!! :) You are absolutely right! That's exactly how we feel - ready to to take some time to prepare well for our second application.

We are now waiting for a reply from my university, quite nerve-wracking I must say, as I am not so sure if they can grant me a deferral for September 2023, but we'll see. Yes, we ordered GCMS notes from both IRCC and CBSA. Our only concern now is that we ordered them week 16 and got the decision week 18, so we are worried that they would come sort of empty as the IRCC officers might have done their notes somewhere between week 16-18. So, if that's the case, we'll have to re-order and wait for another round of 1-2 months I guess.

Thank you for your suggestion and detailed information about Finland! We'll definitely look into that even if out of sheer curiosity because it seems interesting! To tell you the truth, I really do have a specific academic reason for going to Canada and specifically to the university I have chosen. That's why I am so worried now about their deferral options because I really want this university. However, we might have not looked into other options and your idea broadens our outlook a bit, so thanks a lot for that! And oh my, I wish Canada was a bit more sympathetic to its international students and change their paradoxical "we want you, but on a condition" policy

Yes, absolutely, thank you again for offering your help! We really appreciate it a lot and once we receive our notes and know the detailed reasons I'll have more insights to share and questions to ask! :)

Yeah, I was also wondering whether that was a good idea to re-apply without knowing the exact reason of a refusal..
