I just received my DM today...no PPR yet, but it should come soon, InshaAllah.

I am living in Riyadh. When I get PPR, is submitting passport IN PERSON to Canadian Embassy in Riyadh an option?

Also, recent applicants who got their visa stamped (alimsn, mr.gk, navdeep36, badawy0118, mona76, slam.dunk), can you please let me know who long it took for you to get the passports back?

Regarding ur query,please submit ur passports to VFS. I guess Riyadh doesnt accept in person passport submission. Hope that helps

I submitted my passports on Aug 9 to VFS, waiting for reply. Did anyone of you get Proof of driving experience from Maroor, that will be helpful in getting Canadian driving license ?

I got driving record letter from Maroor office located at Al Nasiriya Street in Riyadh. Will be easy to get it if you take the service of Saudi civilian agents roaming inside the Maroor office compound. It is called Ruksa Bayanah in Arabic. Get it on Maroor letter head.

If you are moving to Alberta then you only require the English translation of your Saudi driving license and the original Saudi driving license. No need to get driving record letter for Alberta.

In case of Alberta, Original Saudi driving license and its English translation will suffice. You also need to submit and surrender your original Saudi driving license. 1 year waiting period for road test will be waived.

I guess Saudi Airlines, Lufthansa, Air France, with one stop.
There is cheaper option through skyscanner . net , with two stopovers and multiple airlines, you stop in Rome and New York.

Best one is through Lufthansa, you want to purchase return or one way? For both, fares become different, even if u want one way, choose lufthansa and its return ticket with one week stop and avail only its one way portion of ticket and rest discard it as its return fare with one week of travelling or say 2 weeks, is the cheapest than the one way fare offered by others with less period of time. If u can manage 30 hours then one way best options are Turkish or Egypt Air, If return then lufthansa is the best, but if you want less total journey hours then go for lufthansa, i have also travelled through lufthansa when i went to give landing this year.
