My ecas changed to reflect my test date yesterday (day after I received test invite by email).
So it's turned-out that neither sending a WebForm request last month nor couriering a physical letter to Sydney NS, both requesting in plain English that my file be slated for their regional itinerant service in the Hat (just under 2hrs' drive one-way from me), that neither method sent 4wks ago ever made it through to be put with my file for consideration prior to its now having apparently been sent along to their Saskatoon office (5hrs' drive one-way from me). So now I'm wishing that I'd known beforehand that IRCC's website's promise to rural applicants about them automatically sending each applicant's file to the nearest IRCC office or regional itinerant venue is only IN province, and isn't (as a native English speaker reads in their blurb) geographically-based at all. Sheesh, what a plodding bureaucracy this one is.I'm now IN PROCESS, as of yesterday according to my ecas. As I'm 5hrs' drive from both Saskatoon & Regina, I've followed an IRCC call centre agent's advice and I've written to IRCC in order to request to have my file processed at IRCC's Regional Itinerant service in Medicine Hat, AB, which is just under 2hrs' drive away from me. The IRCC website does something of a disservice to rural/country people currently because it says that they'll send each applicant's file to the nearest IRCC venue, but what they don't tell us is that they'll go by one's postal code and automatically assign the file to the nearest IN-province IRCC, rather than them taking the time/trouble to look at a map to see whether there's any out-of-province IRCC venue that'd be closer and more convenient and safer (in terms of travel) for the applicant. So, as always, country/rural people need to be vigilant with bureaucracies, particularly federal ones, and one has to be prepared to advocate for oneself. Good luck to all my fellow Saskatchewanites.
Honestly I don’t know what the WebForm really does. My husband sent a WebForm request in January because he will be out of country until April 1st week and to schedule test date after that. Last week we received test date for March 12th. To avoid the hassle of rescheduling, my husband is trying to get a flight home to accommodate the test date. He is still trying and nothing is confirmed as of yet. If he can’t then we will notify CIC saskatoon next week. One can only try so much.So it's turned-out that neither sending a WebForm request last month nor couriering a physical letter to Sydney NS, both requesting in plain English that my file be slated for their regional itinerant service in the Hat (just under 2hrs' drive one-way from me), that neither method sent 4wks ago ever made it through to be put with my file for consideration prior to its now having apparently been sent along to their Saskatoon office (5hrs' drive one-way from me). There's a fax number for the Saskatoon IRCC/CIC office, right? I'm disappointed with the WebForm thing, too. Presumably it isn't the Saskatoon office folk's fault if they aren't being forwarded their allocated/assigned applicants' WebForm requests by some dimwit in Sydney. I only received a generic response to my WebForm, which wasn't at all case-specific in any helpful way at all. So I'm guessing that that person simply hit a generic send button to show her/his productivity for a manager's benefit. Oh well, one can hope that the Saskatoon office staff are more on-the-ball than their easterner colleagues in terms of exercising some good old-fashioned western commonsense.Honestly I don’t know what the WebForm really does. If my husband can’t make it to the test on March 12th (we won’t know until March 9th), I will email the Saskatoon office. Their email address was provided in the test email. I wonder how long the rescheduling will be. Hoping and praying he can make it.There's a fax number for the Saskatoon IRCC/CIC office, right? I'm disappointed with the WebForm thing, too. Well at least our respective applications have gotten out of Sydney NS before it appears, based on the apparent general steep slowing-down on processing there, that they've recently exhausted their budgeted/planned allocation for the Minister's much-touted 'extra resources' which were put in place to cope with the influx of applications post-C6's effective date.If my husband can’t make it to the test on March 12th (we won’t know until March 9th), I will email the Saskatoon office. I tried the IRCC Call Centre back in January, he advised me to use WebForm, which I did on Jan. 26th. I also wrote a physical letter, signed-for on delivery in Sydney NS on Feb. 1st. I phoned the Call Centre again yesterday, and the lady told me that Medicine Hat is in Manitoba...! I then tried the local MP's office, who told me that my file was just sent to Saskatoon. At this stage my friend, I now give up, and simply concede that bureaucracy has its ways and won't be told. But thanks for taking the time to write to me, and good luck with your application.@ChippyBoy Why don't you call the IRCC phone number to discuss with them your concern and ask your file be moved to Medicine Hat as you wish? I assume the call agent can help you in a way better than that of the WebForm
I think someone from Alberta had test and oath same day because they lived almost 4-5 hours (not sure of exact time) from the test centre. You might as well be lucky.
