Congratulations! Did your e-cas change to Decision Made?
And how does that beautiful visa look? I received my passport request a few days after you. Hoping to get it back soon too!

Got my passport request today!!
So it really looks like they're trying to get rid of the backlog. Just over 4 months from mailing the application in to getting the passport request, versus the expected 15 months...not bad at all!!

Thats awsome bella!! Keep us posted when u get it back!!
Congrats!!
Its great everyone is getting good news!!

I will!!

Hello all,

I need some advice and guidance from forum people. I got married to a Brazilian in October 2013 and we are almost ready to process her papers. Had some glitches earlier so got delayed. I have some questions , first the police certificate from Brasilia is a non sense because they issue 3 police verifications and each one has different expiry time. One expires within 3 months, other one expires in a month and the third one expires in a week. So i am wondering whats the best way to submit before it expires as by the time my wife sends docs one of the certificate will expire :-X

Also, how long its taking to get sponsorship in Brazil.. Our papers are almost so hopefully i will get her docs and soon will send.

Unfortunately, I'm not so sure about the police certificates seeing that I got mine from Japan (I wasn't 18 yet when I lived in Brazil). But that sounds like a lot of work, do you still have to translate them?

But what I can say is: We filed the application in December and we got out Sponsorship Approval after 36 calendar days.

My sponsorship took 9 months, including the strike and some mistakes made by them. From what I've seen it, it goes faster now.

About the police verifications.
I got two online, both valid for 90 days. And the one I couldn't get online I went to the Brazilian Consulate in Montreal, had done a document allowing a friend of mine get it for me in Rio de Janeiro. Once he had it, he sent it to me.

All of them were valid for 90 days. The most important is to reach CIC within this 90 days.
