Hi everyone!!

I have 2 (more) questions, hehe.

1) my husband and I have gotten everything together now so are just doing last little bits. I have a question about our address. We both live in São Paulo, in an apartment. The problem is that our apartment building if very unsecure- we have no doorman, and we often just do not get mail (when it comes, they just leave it downstairs, unlocked). We were thinking to put his work address, and include and explanation. Does anyone think this would be a horrible idea? Any suggestions?

2) We got out individual photos taken yesterday, we used the country specific guide for Brazil which shows the picture needs to be 35 by 45 mm. And that we need 8. (I'm not sure if I need, or just him, but we got both in case. I read somewhere else that you need 9?! Maybe that's for a different country though. Also do we need to write our name, birthday and sign the back? I'm having trouble finding the specifications for this.

Thanks again, all the answers so far have been so helpful=)

Hi Canadianladyinsp.

1) Your mailing address can be different from your home address, no problem, so you may use your husband's work address and no need for explanation. (If I am not mistaken there is a field for each type of address such as home/ mailing etc).

2) This 8 pictures are only to be taken by the principal applicant (the sponsored person). Don't send plus 8 pics of the sponsor to not confuse the officer assessing your case. I believe writing name and date of birth in the back would be a plus in case they got misplaced, but I didn't do so with mine. So I guess it is up to you.

Good luck ;)

Great!! That news about the address is such a releif, thank you for clarifying that:)

Good idea about the pictures- we certainly don't want to confuse them hehe, oh well now I have some extra pictures of me.

We are planning to separate the documents into three envelopes: 1) sponsor's (me) supporting documents, 2) sponsored persons supporting documents, and 3) proof of relationship. Did you do that?

Thanks again ;D

Hey there!

Yes, that's a great way to organize it. Of course, write on the envelope what each one is about. I even made a list of contents. but that's perfect! ;D
Good luck!

Seeing the post about a Mexican guy, he says that ''Family Sponsorship are on hold'' in Mexico City and they're issuing student and tourist visas, but they havent touched ''Permanent Visas''.

Does anyone know if in Sao Paulo is the same thing, I mean, sponsorship is on hold for the last 2 or 3 months?

Hey, Canadianladyinsp. I had my meds done in Edmonton while I was visiting my husband. The doctor did not mention anything like that.

thanks for the response morrigan! i guess it must be different doing it in sao paulo then in canada... :)oh well...
we are just trying to figure out the online payment for now anyways if anyone has any suggestions! it continues to just say "transaction failed"- weve phoned the bank and everything, nothing wrong on their end ???

Are you using an international credit card? If it is national it may not work...

yes it is an international visa...

Well, we are now looking at doing the payment through a financial institution here (I assume HSBC would work because we have it in Canada too). From what I understand on here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp#3900E8 we need to go there and get an internal bank draft or money order.
Sigh, hopefully this is not as complicated as the rest has been!! :'(

Hey there!
I believe this is going to work and it won't be complicated. Now I remember when I had to do the same bank draft for a TRV, and it worked fine.
Good luck to you guys!
And let us know when you send your application! =)
