Hi,
Conjugal partnership is hard to proved if you don't have evidences. I would suggest to start gather your supporting documents as early as now such as mails, cards, letters, pictures. If your chatting use an archieve so that you can print out all the informations you have everyday. If you travelled, the boarding pass and tickets.

That's a great help in processing your application.

Are you in a place where same sex marriage is illegal? If you are, that will help your conjugal case a lot. As vinz said, it is a hard class to get into, so if you are in a place where you can get married, you may consider doing that. If it's possible for you to live together for a year, you can do that and then apply as common law. Both of those ways generally have fewer problems than the conjugal class.

Do a search; there are a lot of threads about what evidence can be used. You cite some good things already, but those threads can give you more ideas.

The best way to get approved quickly is to have a very organized and complete application. Have everything that you need and try not to send things piece mail (police clearances, etc). Have as much evidence about your relationship as you can. Keep in mind though, even people who do that sometimes have to wait awhile for their approval... but that's really the only way you can do anything about it. You can't really change the timelines or anything. We're all basically at the mercy of CIC :)

Best of luck!

Hi kefert, I tried to PM you back but your inbox is full.

Your situation is perfect for conjugal class, since you can't marry in your home country due to same sex laws. God bless you too through this whole process.

AllisonVSC is an American lady who had a successful conjugal application, so maybe you can try to message her to get more advice.. but clean our your inbox :)

have you both ever been together in Canada?

If you have, one of the concerns of CIC will be why you didn't get marry in Canada instead.

I tried doing the conjugal stuff but I found it very hard to prove and so my partner and I got married in Canada and filed for the spousal sponsorship. It makes things way much easier and you stand a better chance at getting ur PR visa.

Let me know how it works out for you :)

Best wishes!

Hi all! I am a newbie in this forum. Been reading all your posts and it's very helpful to know other information hanging in my head. Before anything else i'd like to post my timeline

Nov 4,2009- CPC MISSISAUGA
Nov 23, 2009- Sponsorship approved
Dec 7, 2009- Manila started processing
Dec 9, 2009- AOR PPR
Dec 11, 2009- Dropped off @ RCBC basement 4
Jan 29, 2010- letter asking for additonal proof of relationship, bank transactions, original letter from the bank address to us, joint accounts, airline ticket, money transfers etc
March 11, 2010- Dropped off @ rcbc basement 4
June 10, 2010- followed up with our MP
June 16, 2010-

I received the following response from the Embassy in Manila.

“Please be informed that this application is currently queued for selection review. The standard processing time for this type of application is now 12 months. Note that this application was received on 04 November 2009.”

We've been waiting for 7 months from the time sponsorship has been approved and 6 months after processing here in manila. This has been an exhausting battle for us, however we couldn't question god's purpose/ reason as to why we have to wait for a certain period of time. Been crying for the past weeks and having a hard time concentrating on my job. All of us here are on the same boat hoping to get to the finish line.

We are a same sex couple with immigration barrier. They said this is the hardest to prove and a very tricky one. However as advised by legit.ca in canada we are more likely under this class for the reasons of not being able to marry , I was denied a tourist visa 3x and she couldn't stay with me for more than a year because of citizenship. Same sex couple are still not accepted much in our society, we do want to have a normal life and start anew in canada. My partner and I met online Jan of 2008 and and been together in HK last March '09 and recent one was last Feb 18- March 13 2010 here in Manila. We just pray that the visa officer in charge of our case is open minded and compassionate. I hope you can give me some information if you know someone under this class same as our status. Appreciate your inputs if our case is more likely to be approved.
