What part of Canada are you living in? There are lots of places with radiant heating in Toronto (and I am sure elsewhere). I actually hate them...coming from a humid climate I find Canada air very dry, esp. in winter; add radiant heat and I suffer sinus problems. My clothes do dry a lot faster here though!

I lived in Edmonton for about 6 months (over the winter) and being originally from Vancouver, BC, I found it to be way too dry for my liking. What I like about Canada is the variety of climates (although I do miss snow in winter).

I grew up in Edmonton and it is very dry, which I will be happy to return to as Michigan is very humid and my allergies (which I never had before) are terrible here and getting worse. Of course, the climate in Edmonton made my eyes always dry, but as long as they arent itchy I will be happy.

I wont be happy to return to the bitterly cold winters though, although being close to the Rockies is a plus.

Well I am already here and have been six months and the things I miss are minor and can live without, being from the UK, I miss chilled cabinets with things like scotch eggs and pork pies in, I miss certain types of chocolate, I miss a faster postal service, I miss faster speed limits (especially as journeys are usually longer here). However, if I was to list the things I don't miss, I would be here all day. ;D ;D ;D

I love it, love it, love it here.
There are many good stores here that carry the british foods like pork pies and such one i know of for sure is on airport road Caledon on front street if you live in this area.

But Smarties in the US are gluten-free; not so in Canada.

Life and love is very subjective!

Lol, I wouldn't eat Smarties when my husband offered them to me the first time, as they had Carnauba wax - they freaked me out about it being used in automobile wax (which it is, lol, but it's plant derived). Ah to be 16 and naive!

Last night we were watching The Little Couple and they were at some huge aquarium in Atlanta. So I asked hubby about the types of arts/aquarium, ect things in Ontario. He wasn't sure. But then we started naming all the places IN Canada we've never been to - and would travel there.

On a day like today, I miss the fact that nothing ever closes at home! Sure, banks are closed and there is no mail, but Wal Mart is open every day of the year except for Christmas! I was astonished to see that absolutely nothing was open on my first visit to Toronto, which was on Easter Monday (which also is nonexistant where I am from.. Easter is Sunday and that's all there is to it!).

I always tease my husband and say that Canadians are lazy (kidding!). :)

I know US smarties, little sugar pills, and based on that knowledge chocolate smarties sound GROSS.

Marineland is in Ontario in Niagara Falls (I haven't been so I can't recommend it). There is also an awesome butterfly conservatory on the Niagara Parkway which I do recommend!

This will be hard for me as well and something I wouldn't have thought of.
I remember one year though, trying to go out to dinner on my birthday when we were in Canada (xmas eve) and having a horribly hard time just finding something that day.

Thanks for the recommendations -will write them down and save them. I very much am about doing, doing, doing.

The US Smarties and Canadian smarties are not anything similar.
Think M&M with a waxier coating and a different flavor chocoalte for the Canada Smarties.

That's one of the ones I listed, it'll be odd to me. I remember when we were dating still and I was just 16 and I had to stay in the car!
Though now my kids will have an earlier drinking age too!
