Do you know why were you given RQ?
As I see from the forum, different reasons for RQ may have different processing time.

Frequent travel and I was out of country for a long period working aboard.

Hey Everyone!!

My application was received on September 10 2012
In process from Feb 1 2013
RQ received April 2013
RQ sent May 2013
Received a notice to prepare for test Early January 2014.

Ordered a ATIP notes on. February 2014 and there is nothing much.

My local officer is Mississauga
File were transferred to St.Claire

What officer mentioned that, OB 407 D-TRIAGE, RESIDENCE CONCERN TO BE ASSESSED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW- JD- ST.CLAire

I have not received any test or interview communication from CIC.

Whenever I call CIC - call center, officer give me a vague answer, your file has not been reviewed yet, if it is not been reviewed yet then why officer made a note residence concern to be assessed at the time of interview.

Please comments on this.

I dare say that your case has been re-triaged under OB-407D and found not needing an RQ anymore. At least that's how it appears. Your timeline is close to mine and I just had a test last week. See the signature for details. BTW, I have the same OB-407D note in my ATIP.

Oh wow many congrats for your test buddy, I hope I can get a test invite letter very soon.

I did not understand what is re-triaged under OB-407D, do they not require an RQ anymore, can you please explain briefly?
what would be the outcome, again I have received my ATIP in February 2014, as of now I do not know what major changes happened in my ATIP.

Is this a right time to order a new ATIP, or it will backlog my future test date.

As I understand it, since our RQ's had been issued a new operating bulletin came out which reduced the number of RQ triggers. Apparently in our cases RQ's have been requested based on triggers that were no longer considered as such by CIC. That's where the re-triage under OB-407D comes from. There is an understanding that the note "residence concerns to be addressed at interview" means that the RQ is no longer needed. And I personally hope so.

Also about ATIP... There is no evidence to believe that ordering ATIP slows down your case.

I have ordered my ATIP in February as well, that's why I know what's in it. I also know that my clearances were due to expire in mid-June. When I didn't receive a test invitation until early July I requested another ATIP (which I haven't received until now because the allowed month for processing hasn't passed yet). A few days later I received a test invitation. Showed up, passed it, a CIC employee who interviewed me asked a few questions about my employment and travel and concluded that everything looked good on their end, and once the case is approved I will be invited to take an oath... hopefully within 3 months. She was actually very nice.

Another thing is I think she said that my case had to be approved by a citizenship judge or citizenship officer. Not 100% sure about the CO (was a bit nervous at the moment and also didn't think it could be important), but I have a feeling that's what I heard. If true then that's a good news, because our RQ'ed cases will go under the new administrative procedure where a CJ doesn't necessarily have to see them - should be faster than before.

Thank your very much for your input Lorris, Much appreciated.

I believe your case is very similar to me, you have also got the same notes on ATIP, this gives me little hope that sooner or later CIC will send me test invite, you never know Tuesday, or by the end of this week, or end of the month.

I will keep you posted

Hi guys, Your input is extremely helpful. I am in the same boat. I am a 2011 applicant and got RQ and submitted it on April 2013. I haven't been invited to the test yet. I ordered my ATIP and found under the Case Stage: Certificate Prep/Clearances. Any comments on this?

How long will this take? It has been so long already...anyway, I went for mandamus and hopefully I will bring good news to the forum soon :)

It was quick in my case. Your case may be different.

But what about "Certificate Prep."? Does it mean that RQ has been reviewed and application approved and the citizenship grant is being prepared...just waiting for clearances?

No, just re-running clearances. You haven't passed your test yet, therefore your application cannot be approved yet. You have to have up-to-date clearances in order to be invited to a test.
