Dear friend,
I honestly don't think your RQ has anything to do with rescheduling your oath day. I was in a similar situation last year. After the test I called CIC just to check my status and I was told " you have passed the test and you will be receiving your oath letter soon ". Two months passed and they said the same thing again and after 105 days from the test date I received RQ. It has been 12 months since I submitted my documents and have received NO news.
CIC agents are not decision makers and they really don't know where one's file will end up and I sincerely believe what they say on the phone is not really accurate that is why every time I called I was told a different RQ processing time.

The difference here is that I got my RQ exactly a week later of me tying to change my Oath date and i had already send them back that RQ BLANK and i had clearly wrote on it "NOT INTERESTED AS I WITHDRAW MY APPLICATION". :)

Ah geez.
It's your choice how you want(ed) to pursue your application coolcanadian, but I'm really disappointed to hear that.

When we give up, we're just making things easier on the CIC. We're actively helping the CIC deny us our rights. And that sucks.

Second that. But again the decision is/was yours to make.

Dont feel down. You will get the oath letter soon.

Two weeks for them to send it, two weeks for you to receive it. Courtesy your local postal service ::) ::) ::) ::)

I will be around but I don't have much to say to a dam RQ...All i have to say is have pride in who you are....they went to our countries asking for educated people to migrate...I am a PHD and i had worked really hard to achieve what i have....and whatever i have today or i always will is solely because of my education NOT because of Canadian nationality....I can get immigration to any part of the world without a hiccup.

Since i had sent that RQ off with that message i slept like a baby :)

I'm glad it made you feel better but you realize that to immigration, it will look like you are withdrawing it because you would not pass an RQ and they will feel happy that they "caught another one" and feel justified in continuing these last minute RQ's :(

Your personal contentment in this case goes together with CIC's so I guess you are both happy now

It's Canada that's at loss, not the other way around. I heard for a PHd with a couple qualified publications, you get USA green card in 6 months. Some food for your thoughts ;)

The US immigration system is not particularly transparent, responsive, or well run. It is wise not to expect it to be.
If anything, the challenges we are experiencing are a symptom of CIC is moving towards a US-style system (less citizenship, more temporary immigration and workers, years-long waits, more illegal immigration).
