So the expiry is written as 2017/10/01. I'm hoping this means January 10 and not Oct. 1. Do you guys know?

Congrats!! It's most likely January, I've never heard of a visa with an expiry over a year away. The expiry should match up around when your medicals were done, plus a year, give or take a few days. I was confused about our expiry date as well.

Thanks. Interestingly, did medicals April 12, 2016, visa issues July18, 2016, expiry date Jan. 10, 2017 (3 months before med exam).

Thanks everyone, I guess if the Rome office calls for pickup it would be paid as COD correct?

I have no idea. I just know that my husband paid in advance and then we had to fill out a form and it then DHL handled everything. We didn't include a pre addressed envelope or anything like that with the passport.
So glad it's over.

I wish you guys lots of luck and I'm sure you won't need it and soon you will get the COPR too. :)

Greetings everybody,

Does anyone know if the Rome Visa Office still works normally as they do all year around in August?

Good luck everyone with their documents :)

I'm glad you heard something from the visa office at least.

Best of luck! I'm sure everything will be fine!!!

Just a note about our COPR mailing experience -

We were unable to coordinate a prepaid waybill from Italy to Germany (where we reside) so we just opted for their second option given by the visa office - which was that they would send it to us via registered mail.

They mailed it out on August 2 and emailed us the tracking number and it arrived to us in Germany on Aug 8 - and required a signature for release.

So overall, if the prepaid waybill courier is causing a huge headache or is $$$ the registered mail from the visa office only took a few extra days and a whole lot less work. But then again maybe we were just lucky with the italiane post ;D

Hope this helps anyone else in the future!

Got our passport back today. Rome office did not inform the courier for us and did tell us we had to do everything ourselves. Anyway, we got the info from DHL and they handled everything for us. For future applicants; don't worry if Rome office doesn't give you their codice fiscale for the forms and if they don't print the form to give to the pick-up guy. DHL still delivered to us the passport.

So the expiry is written as 2017/10/01. I'm hoping this means January 10 and not Oct. 1. Do you guys know?

Interesting, our COPR says:

Valid to: 2017/02/07

Which I took as February 7, 2017... which makes sense as our medicals were done in late January...
??? weird, and your COPR was issued by Rome? or by Ottawa? It could be that European dates are always YY/MM/DD? Seems weird!
Anyways, it doesn't matter a ton as long as you land before January anyhow.

hi all

Do we have an update regarding the Rome office timelines about outland Family sponsorship proccedure? They started procceding our application at 25/8/2016

Thanks

Hey guys. Have you figured out if Italians need an ETA number, even if they're landing?
Here is an update. We are landing January 25.

Ciao!

Guys I need some help (Express Entry application, PPR email received):
1) If I reside in Rome, can I deliver the documentation they require in person?
2) In the email they say visa exempt country can just send a photocopy of the passport. Do you confirm italians passport holder can do that?
3) If I don't use a pre-paid courier for the pick up, which address do they use to send the VISA back?

Thanks a lot!

From what I understand, you would not need one. Further to that - the system may not even allow it given the COPR would be linked to the passport number. Of course, you could on the safe side try to apply for one if you wanted to be sure.

hey guys how long does it take to receive an answer after the interview is done?
The officer told me couple of weeks
but its 5 weeks now and no news
