OMG that's crazy, how can they expect someone to go without their visa for over a month?! I hope it arrives very soon!!!kks87 said:

We found out that Rome had acknowledged receipt of the passport immediately, but they hadn't gotten notification from Mississauga that RPRF was paid (which had been sent to them 3 days before). Our representative then responded advising it had been paid and sent, and provided the receipt to them. My guess is that they then put a BF on the file to review later. I don't really understand why there is a disconnect between Mississauga receiving the receipts and having the system updated at the Visa Office's ends..its all computers and technology?? Anyway, I don't know why they haven't opened up our file again to see if the payment was received (which they should be able to see since ecas can be pulled up on both mine and husband's information using the receipt #), but hopefully they will look at it soon.
Also, the case specific enquiry that we sent took 2 weeks to be acknowledged and forwarded to Rome, and it reached them about a week ago. So I'm crossing my fingers it encourages them to review our application again and realize everything they need is there.
Moral of the story - pay your RPRF before they ask. Yes, most of the time it doesn't cause a delay, but if you have our luck it delays it many many weeks

Hopefully the communication by your representative with a copy of the receipt will clear it all up soon! Please give as an update when you get it back!
In the mean time... twiddling my thumbs...
Ecas finally changed to Decision Made after we got the passport back. Also, no mention of any correspondence, we still only have the 3 basic lines - Date Received, Date started Processing, Meds Received.

Congrats!! we got PPR today too!!! What exactly are/did you send them? I think they just asked for the photocopies of all the passport pages - and is the prepaid envelope for the COPR to be delivered? I'm confused about that haha.neetwo80 said:Hey guys! Fantastic news. Sent the passport on Monday to Rome via courier. The courier doesn't do pre-paid bills (TNT). Instead we have to call the courier to pick up the passport when it's ready and once it arrives here, we pay them. I emailed Rome VO about it but they said it's not true. I just think they don't know, but they will tell us when the passport is ready.
So i a little confused about sending passport and receiving visa. I have recently sent out my wife's application(outland) from Toronto and are waiting patiently. When a request for passport is made and the visa is ready we have to arrange a pick-up?? Do they not send it themselves if you provide a paid envelope? What have the rest of you done if you are already in Canada?
The office will usually give specific instructions for recommended courier based on your country of citizenship and country of residence, if they are different.Hypno73 said:

I have also read applicants respond to the passport request asking to send it to Ottawa if it was not mentioned in their email and to receive instructions for the address to the Ottawa office. If that is something you would want to do, request that as soon as you receive the passport request so they have time to respond to your message. We were given 30 days to submit the passport so you don't want to miss sending it in waiting on correspondence from CIC which can be slow.
If you send it to Rome, I think the request for pick up depends on the courier company used. We used DHL and we didn't have to call them for pick up, the Rome office informed them. Other applicants receive an email advising their visa is ready and to request the courier to pick it up.

Got our passport back today. Rome office did not inform the courier for us and did tell us we had to do everything ourselves. Anyway, we got the info from DHL and they handled everything for us. For future applicants; don't worry if Rome office doesn't give you their codice fiscale for the forms and if they don't print the form to give to the pick-up guy. DHL still delivered to us the passport.kks87 said:
