Hello all,
First time posting. Wanted to share my timeline, I'm almost done with the process but waiting for my husband's passport to be returned. Here is our timeline:
App Rec'd: Feb 5, 2016
AOR 1: Mar 12, 2016
SA: Mar 30, 2016
AOR 2/PA In Process: Mar 31, 2015
PPR: May 4, 2016
Passport Rec'd @ Rome: May 9, 2016
So it's been about 3.5 weeks and haven't received the passport back. Our representative has sent an email to follow up on the status and we're waiting to hear back. Overall it was really quick, now I'm super impatient to get the passport back! Hope this helps, I see there are a few that are going through Rome in Feb/March this year.

I just got SA!!! My application was not sent to Rome though... It was sent to Ottawa. OMG! I didn't expect that. Me and my husband both live in Italy.

Congrats! I'm so jealous you got Ottawa! You'll be done in no time at all! Maybe you had an uncomplicated app, sometimes Ottawa will take those ones instead of transferring it to the visa office abroad.neetwo80 said:

Hello forfra, not sure if you are still checking in here, but just wanted to ask what you included with your passport and pics? Did your PPR ask to include the email with it? I noticed other applicants in different VO are told to include the email, which I have read and re-read ours and it definitely does not state that (so we did not). I ended up needing to send more proof on intent to re-establish and I emailed my MP in Ontario to do an Inquiry. The problem was that Ottawa wasn't convinced that I wanted to re-establish because I put the intent to move date as April 4, 2017 which they think is too far away as the visa expires in 6 months.
Of course I only chose that date because I thought it was safe as I applied in April, was afraid the med exam would expire cause the visa process is 12 months for Rome VO. I wanted to move for years and asap but we had to choose a date to put in the application. So... non sento molto bene. I sent more proof and wrote a letter that I included in an email as well. Now I'm giving it up to the angels. It will all work out as it should. Couraggio!

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that! So is your SA pending at this point, or have they gone ahead to process the PA part of your application while they wait from the extra information from you? I would perhaps write a letter explaining everything you've written here and how you would re-establish yourself in Canada, perhaps letters from family or friends saying they would put you up for the first few months you're in Canada... not too sure.neetwo80 said:
I did put that my intended return date was October 2016, but I included some proof of property so perhaps that was enough in that repsect.
I hope that helps with some ideas, perhaps ask in the main family sponsorship thread or make a new thread to see if more senior members have better suggestions.

Actually, I got SA but they have paused on processing in Ottawa. They seem to be concerned about the date. I have redone that form and put Oct. 26, 2016. I am sending them pages of extra proof (mostly conversation) with me saying I want to move and asap. I wrote a letter explaining why I put April and that I really want to move asap. We feel weird buying air tickets without knowing when we'll get the visa and when it will expire so we're waiting on that. I did ask them in the email about this. I already sent them a lot of other proof with my application. I must continue with the application as I want to move asap. So I need to convince them of that.can-ita said:

Hi, not really sure about the time differences between the 2 categories. But there have been reports of DM from rome within 3-4 months for spousal sponsorship... but who knows really.jack12 said:
