I don't know about dropping off, but i'm sure that you can go pick it up on your own. The only thing is that you have to set up an appointment with them, you can't just show up there to pick it up...anyways you will get an email that explains to you everything when you get PPR.

Do you think it is better to use Vatican Post or Poste Italiane to send the passport to the Embassy?

It won't turn into an immigration interview. You just need the appointment to pick up your documents, you can't just show up.
That is up to you to use Poste italiane or Vatican post lol...i dont think there is any difference

Nobody knows the exact time frame, for some it takes couple of weeks and for others it could take up to 4 to 6 months. My wife's background check has been under process for the last two months. Good luck

My husband applied PR under self-employed category May 2016 and he has received request of Medical exam, updated police certificate and visa processing fee March 2017 from visa office in Roma.
Last update status was medical received 21 April 2017.
I wonder if someone has a similler timeline and know how long should we expect to hear for next step.
And what is next step? Passport request?

I have applied to federal stage since 18 january 2016
Medicals done 27 july 2016
Additional documents september 2016. Since then nothing.
I have send to them 4 inquiry and have taken response only in the first email "This is to advise you that your file is under review by visa officer". Nothing since then.
Waiting for PPR since 18 months. !!!!!!!!!!

I went to saskatchewan with the SINP employment job offer 1 year ago and then applied for PR for my husband,my child and myself.At the end of March 2017 an officer from VO ROME emailed to me that we have given fake information about working in my home country and that is called mispresentation.I had 60 days to reply to the officer with facts and everything so they can believe me that i was really working in my country.I sent all information that i had in the end of may and since that i havent recieved any news from the officer.I wanted to know how much does it take for them to take the final decision.Remember that i sent the information to counter the officer for the mispresentation at the end of MAY.
If anyone has an answer please reply.Thanky everyone.
