OMG Decision Made finally .........Visa was granted and picked up and the tickets were bought and they will be here on Sunday.

Vania keep your head up next week it will be you. :-*

wow dany congrays! ;D that's awesome news.

we ordered the notes a month ago and we got them. the due date for our application is in july :) so they kinda have to completely be do0ne with the app by then!

I`m happy for you Dany! :D

I am ready for good news. My son/5years/ every day ask when we will go to the airport. ;D

Good luck everybody, I am now trying to finish my papers and send them to my husband in Canada, so we can apply very soon, I will post my timeline after I have enough posts here :-)

Hopefully more romanians will join this topic!

I have some questions for you, if possible:

1. if not enough space for an answer, you completed the lines in the form and THEN attached another page to finish the answer, or you simply wrote on the form "see attached" and worte the entire answer on the attached page?
i find the second option more logical, but no idea what's actually better.

2. in that form where you have to write the story of the relationship, I feel question 6 and 9 are tricky. I describe the first meeting in person at question 6, but then at 9 I have to write how the relationship developed from the first contact, therefore I am supposed here to include/repeat what I already wrote on question 6?!

I simply want to write the full essay at question 9 and that's it, but I see people created a separate sheet with their relationship summary... also I don't get why my husband (sponsor) should write his own essay, and if so, attached to what form he should include it? Or this is simply something people are doing to have more proofs?

3. is there any need of fingerprints for romanians? i think i'm overreading the guide and start to freak out

4. I have already done my medicals, no idea where they will send the results since I didn't actually send the application to Canada. they will match them at a later date? any idea?

5. I have diacritics in my name that appear also in my passport, but on the form that must be validated online and get those barcodes there is no possible way I could include diacritics/special charactes in my name. Yet they ask me to write my name EXACTLY as it appears on my passport. well guess what, I cannot do it. and cannot write by hand since it's a document that must be validated, cannot add things just like that.

Sorry for so many questions, each day I find more and more questions, hopefully I won't get crazy before finishing the application. God help us all :-)

and thanks for reading! nobody in real life doesnt get what takes me so long to complete few papers... yeah sure.

:o

welcome deedee! i'll try to answer your questions as best as i can :)

1. hmm i just attached a paper where i wrote my full answer OR i wrote as much as i could and continued on the next page, i think it's up to you. we're past sponsorship approval , files are already in Bucharest and i'm going to go ahead and assume it's fine whatever route you take. btw, NO staples! use paper clips! ;D on the attached page mention the IMM form, your sponsor's + your name, date of birth, and question number. maybe it's a drag but i promise you that a well organised app will always look better and will make a better impression too! trust me.

2. question 6: you just describe the FIRST meeting, nothing else. question 9 asks you about the DEVELOPMENT of the relationship, so you'll go on from your first meeting (excluding it).

3.no fingerprints for us ;) just get a police certificate (super easy - in 1 day you'll have it). - btw as far as police certs are concerned, you need a police cert from every country you lived in more than 6 months, be careful.

4. yeah they'll match them at a later date, it's really not a problem. make sure to attach the paper you got from the doctor tho. it will be easier for them (try to make your app as easy to read & understand as possible! just assume they're a bunch of monkeys that can't manage it right xD - because human error is so frequent, leave no room for confusion)

5. if i`m not mistaking, you have 2 possible lines where you can write your name (there's a special line for names written in different alphabets - arabian, russian, etc.), so write it with diacritics there. if it's still not o0k, attach a paper clearly stating your full name with diacritics. don't worry tho, pretty sure they'll write it without anyway.

if you have other questions shoot away, i had a bazillion q's when we compiled the app. glad i asked them all and freaked out like a maniac, cuz we made such a well organised app! definitely worth it on the long run!

good luck !

Congrats Dany :D

Finally, today I received Passport Request :P

yay awesome some good news! ;D congrats vania! took them a lot ::)

Thank`s. At 13 December would be exactly 15 months. I hope they will return my passport before Christmas. And to buy the most expensive tickets. :-X

Hi I'm new here.

My wife is from Moldova, so it's not exactly Romania but my understanding is the application is handled by the office in Bucharest.

I basically have very limited understanding of the entire process, if someone could be kind enough to guide me through it that would be a huge relief.

What time frame am I looking for spousal sponsorship? Would it be the same for people from Moldova as those in Romania if its the same embassy?

HI. YES ITS THE SAME EMBASSY. ALL THIS PROCESS DEPENDS ON EVERY CASE. EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT. IT CAN TAKE FROM 8 TO 15 MONTHS

Thanks Svetlana.

Another question I had (for anyone):

So when I submit the spousal sponsorship package here in Canada, I noticed that my wife will need to provide her birth certificate. Does that have to be the original birth certificate or can it be a notarized photocopy?

If we are going to start this process for spousal sponsorship what are the steps we should take first? Should she get her medical done?

It has to be a notarized one, translated in french or english. She has to get her medical done. The adress in chisinau is ciuflea 36/1. She has to go there and make an appointment. She has to get a police certificate (it has to be translated too). Meanwhyle u should fill the application forms that u can find on cic website )
