Thank you, I just checked the official website:

https://www.international.gc.ca/gac-amc/publications/atip-aiprp/index.aspx?lang=eng

There it is stated that foreign nationals can only request information according to the Privacy Act but not the according to the Access to Information Act.

Even if I apply for information according to the Privacy Act, what will this give me and how will this help my application?

To be totally honest, I do not know. I have not received mine and I am guessing that this would probably have next to no effect on the application process. What potentially could help is that using this report you can see where the officers are struggling to move and nudge it with an additional information of sorts? I don't know ... At least that is what my grand game plan is :p

Today I got some surprisingly good news - after 12 months, visitor visa application is approved!!

Moral of the story, you can't do anything - the London visa office which handeled my application copy pasted the usual bs that they are busy 6 months ago and they haven't responded to my comlpaint yet, but visa request got approved!

  • Haha
Reactions: progression
I also have same situation, biometric done on May 24th, 2022 London office.

No update thereafter, even file not got into review.

Not sure what's happening, webform particularly saying have some patience. Last webform raised in July.

Keeping in mind processing time was 7 days when i applied, today it is 42 days. Don't know how correct is their processing time calculator?

Update me if u got any update pls

Hope we get ppr soon
Best Wishes
Hi, Please I applied around the same time. VO is London. Any luck with your application?

HI all,

SInce it has been a year, I raised a webform + separetly submitted an official complaint. I rececived an automatic reply that reads;

Thank you for your e-mail. It has been received by IRCC LONDON.

Please note that visitor visa (or Temporary Resident Visa) processing capacity in particular has been reduced with resources diverted to priority lines of business, such as the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel, and study and work permits.

Despite our considerable efforts, we know that some applicants have experienced significant wait times with the processing of their applications in all categories and we understand their frustration. We are doing our best to respond to volumes of applications that are much higher than normal and we are working on new measures to address these issues.

Online, my bar is fully grey and the following steps are mentioned:

Review of eligibility
We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Review of medical results

You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.

Review of additional documents

We do not need additional documents.

Interview
You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

Biometrics
March XYZ 2022 Completed.

Background check
We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

Final decision
Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made

I have 2 important questions:

1) Does the above mean they have started reviewing my application at least?; and
2) Are there still people who applied in February 2022 for a visitor visa and have still not received a reply?

FYI, I applied in the Netherlands and the visa office assessing my application is in London.
Your application for visitor visa falls under which category? Like study permit, work permit or normal tourist visa

Work permit is not a visitor visa imo.

Mine was a normal tourist visa, already approved - see post above.

I know work permit is not visitor visa. Work permit and visitors visa are two different things...work permit allows you to work there and TRV allows you to get entry into Canada.. I wanted to know like your TRV was based on what? However I understand yours is simply a tourist visa.

My partner is working in Montreal already. We applied for a tourist visa for me but it’s taking so long… nothing since July 2022 (London office). We’re thinking of applying for an open work permit for me with his work status. Can I apply for a work permit having my tourist visa processing? Thanks guys.

Has anybody tried requesting B2 visitor visa from the US embassies located in the Caribbean. My status is a Canadian PR but the wait times here are very long (about 2 years). So if I go to to a third country with faster times, what are the chances there? Any experiences?
Thanks!

This thread is about Canadian TRVs, not US. Ask on a US forum.

If you aren’t only planning on visiting you should be applying for an OWP not a TRV.

Hi,

I applied visitor visa for my parents and it is exactly like this thread title it has been taking ridiculously long. I submitted at the end of May 2023 and they completed the biometrics at the beginning of July 2023. Then it just stuck there. Now it has been nearly one year.

I tried to call IRCC CSR, also submitted the inquiries on their web many times. But every time they just told me the same thing, it is in process... and sending me the copy paste bs template.

I saw in your post you mentioned made a separate official complain? How did you do it ?

It is so frustrating because it is actually a renewal of their visa, They used to come to Canada before so it is not a really new application. And now it seems it just falls into the crack and there is nothing I can do. The IRCC CSR sending the copy paste template and say "hope this is helpful" ...

Thank you
