When did your wife land with her SOWP? She qualified for CCB for your children 18 months after that. If she had been in Canada for 18 months already and if she remained in Canada with your children from August to March she should have qualified for CCB from September to February.
She landed on January 9th, 2021. She received her CCB for August 2022, March 2023 and onward. She did not receive CCB for the period we were in implied status (September-February). Is she eligible for Retroactive payment?

Hi I have a question, my dad came to Canada in 2016 under Student permit and me and my mom came on Aug 2017 (my mom under WP and I was under SP and I was 15 y/o) i turned 18 on 2020, and I turned the 18th month on Feb 2019 (from my arrival on Aug 2017), and by March 2019 my mom and my dad were under work permit still, so is the 18th month since my dad arrived in 2016 or since I arrived on Aug 2017?

Depends on who is claiming the CCB.

Hello there! We left Canada in 2018 (Canadian Citizens) I informed CRA of this. We will be returning to Canada in a few months. My daughter is 16 years old. Will I be eligible for retroactive payments for all the years living abroad?

Have you been filing taxes every year based on your worldwide income, and have been a tax paying resident since 2018?

Thank you so much for responding. Unfortunately no. The last time I filed my taxes was before I left. So a little more info about my situation at the time: living abroad was suppose to be a temporary thing. I was in a bad situation with my ex who forced us to stay there and threatened to take my daughter away. I found a way out so my daughter and I will be returning this year.

You have to be a tax resident to collect. So once you start being a tax resident you can collect from the time you return but not since 2018.

Thanks for clarifying. I've heard of others who continued to receive even after they left Canada. When they returned they had to repay CRA. Luckily, I informed them before I left.

Once you become a tax resident you can file for the benefit. It stops at the age of 18.

Need more info: So you are PR? You have received CBB in the past? You were on a work permit? If so, how many months. Not everyone is eligible for retroactive payments but you submit through your CRA account.
Hi, one question, MY CRA online account is not showing my CCB for the month of July 2024. what should I do? Should I wait till July Starts?
