Request for Additional Documents - Regarding my marriage after Medical recieved

Finally received PPR, actually my lawyer had received email on 21st March around 9.30 PM.


Here my timeline:

Application Date: 06,May,2013
AOR Received.: 21 June 2013
Med's Request: 18 January 2014
Med's Done....: 31 January 2014
RPRF - 27 January, 2014
Additional docs request - 12 Feb, 2014
Payment Request for Spouse - 11 March 2014
PPR Request:21 March 2014

good to see this topic..not sure how i missed it..i am in same situation...however my wife wasn't added on later stage but she was already in the application when i applied on july 8th, 2013....we got married out of canada on december of 2012 and since then we have been living in different countries...i guess its standard for cic to ask more documentation regarding marriage ..specially when spouse is living in a different country.....on 20th feb me and my wife we both got med request...and on 21st feb request for biodata and RPRF...on 24th feb i got the exact same email....and sent all the documents to cic on 7th march...all hard copies along with a cover letter...hoping to get some positive news soon....

Yes, its a standard procedure nowadays..! Try to arrange as many supporting documents as possible. Especially wedding pictures and financial support documents.

My documents were reached to Ottawa on Feb 21 and I have received PPR on March 21, so exactly 1 month.

I got the same email too for the additional docs. I am in canada and my husband is in India. My husband was not added at the the later stage , but was already in the application when I applied. Its been almost six years since we got married. I am here for more than six years. I notified CIC when we got married and reconfirmed my status at later stage. And I have no idea why they are asking for these docs in my case.
I am waiting for the docs from my husband .I Will receive them by the end of this week and will send all the docs together next to Ottawa. Any advise.

Your case seems similar to mine. I just have a question, when you get the passport request, how are you going to send your wife's passport. Since she is another country. Do you mind telling which country she is from . Because what I heard for India, you can not send your passport out side of India through mail.
I am wondering if I do get the passport request, what options do I have because my husband is in India.

Your case seems similar to mine. I just have a question, when you get the passport request, how are you going to send your wife's passport. Since she is another country. My wife was traveled to Canada on dependent visa, she is now in Canada. One of my friend had similar situation like you, he sent his dependent passport to Canada with one of his friend who was traveling to Canada.

yes....thanks bro.....i sent all the documents they asked ...such us chat history..ph call record dated back to 2011...email history..copy of facebook messges...and profile...wedding pictures ..pictures of other outings...only thing.. couldnt provide is financial support document...cause she doesnt need any financial support ...and i never sent her any financial support as she has a good job..lives with my and her parents ..which i explained on the attached cover letter...lets hope for best...

i am not exactly sure how this is going to work out for my case..but my educated guess will be ..they will ask to sent her passport to the local high commission/embassy..type of thing..i am just praying everything works out okay and get PPR soon..i am sure they will mention on PPR email for her with instruction .....note that many applicants apply here under CEC and then leave...or move to a different country....and their case gets processed accordingly and i believe they dont send the passport to canada but to their local canadian visa center..

Hello people,

Its 5 am in the morning, I have just reached home after finishing my landing at rainbow bridge.
finally long wait has been over, officially I am now Canadian PR.

Started my journey in 6 May 2013 and got the approval on 29 March 2014.

I am not able sleep now ;D

Thank you everyone for your support, guidance, comments and suggestions.. Eventhough I had hired lawyer I was constantly following this forum, it was really helpful to understand the process better.

Adding spouse's application to ongoing PR application under CEC

Hi guys,

I reside in Canada on work permit (Valid till: Sep,2015). I applied for PR under CEC in February, 2014. I visited India recently and got engaged. Then we did court marriage in the after a week. We did not have a traditional marriage ceremony. We are planning this ceremony in January 2015.
I am planning to add her to my ongoing PR application. (I dont have as many proofs like you guys as this relationship is very recent)

PR application results will take more than a year. So, I am wondering if I can apply dependent work permit for her or no? Or visitor visa is the only way to go? We want to be together as soon as possible.

Any suggestions are welcome. Please guide me.

Could any one plz post list of IMM forms that CIC ask us to fill-out when we want to add spouse at latter stage of the application.
At least it would help me to review those forms well in advance and keep it ready. As soon I will be getting married & will inform CIC to add my wife to my application.

A) If your spouse or common/law partner is a citizen or permanent resident of Canada:
You must submit the following document:
· Certificate of marriage or proof of common/law partnership
· Copy of proof of Canadian status (copy of permanent resident card, card of Canadian citizenship card and/or Canadian birth certificate)

No medical examination or processing fee will be required.



(B) If your spouse is not a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, he/she must submit the following documents whether he/she will accompany you to Canada or not:

Completed application forms (enclosed):
· IMM 0008 Generic – All pages must be completed and page 5 signed by the principal applicant; pages 3-5 must show details of the newly added spouse, common-law or conjugal partner and all dependent children of principal applicant or spouse/partner.
o IMM 5669 Schedule A - to be completed by spouse, common-law or conjugal partner and all dependant children over age 18.
· IMM 5406 - to be completed by spouse, common-law or conjugal partner
· IMM 5409 - Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union if applicable
· Four passport-sized photographs
· Copy of your marriage certificate if applicable
· Copy of birth certificate (legible)
· Police certificates from any country where he/she has resided for six months or more since age 18 (Refer to the CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp
· Copy of divorce certificates/from any previous marriage(s)
o (If minor children are involved, custody documents must be included)

You must send these documents in hard copy (not via email) to the following address:

yes i did...july 2013 was my 2nd time applying...those documents mentioned above was asked to me on my first time application in 2012 in which my spouse was added latter stage....in july 2013 application she was in form start.. my first time application was denied because the employer of part of my work experience dint provide any reference letter...
