Renewal of work permit application.

One of my friend needs an advice, she submitted a renewal of work permit(March 2010) before the expiry date of her permit last April 2010. But when the application for renewal of permit was submitted, the LMO was still in process. LMO has been release last june 2010 and forwrded to CIC, its has been more than 5 months still no reponse from CIC. Her representative sent a letter to CIC informing that she doesn't receive any feedback from them and to follow up the application. She is now floating and don't know what's going on, does she need to apply for restoration or new work permit? The LMO will expire on december. What is the best way she needs to do?

She is out of status and way past the 90 day period to submit restoration. Try calling CIC and ask what happened to her application.

She already phoned the CIC and told her that they are assessing her application.

Was her LMO for a new employer or the same employer. If with the same employer, ask CIC if she is in implied status considering she submitted her WP application before the expiration of her WP so she can continue working otherwise she'll have to wait till she gets her new WP.

Yes, the LMO is on the same employer. I will tell her to ask if she is on implied status. Thank you!

hello, my name is sharon a live in caregiver here in canada arrived JUne,2009. im getting 2yrs in 2011, so my problem is what kind of renewal i have to put in the application form? working permit still or open permit together with PR application. I need to renew my status before it 2010 work permit expires.how long the open permit arrives before the current expires?thank you.

I need some advise please.I am under the live-in caregiver program,i just only want to ask in regards my work permit.I will be finish my 24 months in 5 months and ready to apply for open permit on June.My question is,my work permit will expire on July.do I still need to renew it.If my current employer will gonna continue to sponsor me,what advice can you give me.Thanks and looking forward for your advice.
