This is recent virtuel debit card they launched couple of months ago and it is true it is not accepted everywhere it is clearly indicated on Visa website that is why they provide a list of merchant who accept it. It is not normal debit card but a virtuel it seem like it is new product lainch by Visa.amikety said:My Visa is a debit card. If you're paying inside Canada with a Canadian card and your bank claims it's not their fault, I would suspect they aren't being truthful. The average customer service rep at banking call centers aren't trained to understand the refusal codes - they always blame it on the merchant even when it's not the merchant's fault. Only higher trained employees will know the codes properly. You could try going into the branch, asking for an account manager. Explain the problem, have the manager look at your card. Once they identify the problem, try the payment again before leaving the branch if you can.
If you decide to try a pre-paid card, make sure it's refundable in case it doesn't work.
