Thanks amikety, we don't think this card could do the job, the question is, does this could work if I use one of my friends credit card?

Yes - it doesn't matter whose name is on the card - as long as the amount is paid and you clearly identify for which application it is, you can use somebody else's credit card.
A lot of people have experienced problem, their bank would not recognize CIC website as a "secure website" (kind of ironic!), so it would automatically block the transaction. Calling the bank and letting them know which website you will be using (CIC) and that's an authorized transaction should do the trick, or using somebody else's credit card if needed.
Good luck,
Sweden

I think so - several applicants have had the same, and as soon as they called their bank and explained the situation ( give them the amount and the website that you are trying to use), they can "pre-approve" the website so that your payment goes through. It's a "security check" to prevent frauds...

I've had the same with other websites ( not with CIC though) where my bank blocked the payment even if I had money in the account, because they were not sure that it was a legitimate website. Calling them solved the problem... worth a try!

Good luck,
Sweden

Your bank is probably what's blocking the transaction. Most of the time with credit card declines, the bank is the one declining. (Small portion is the merchants bank.)

If its a friends card, then your friend needs to call and explain the situation. The number is on the back of the card.

I am in same situation but I am in Canada, I only have Visa Debit card (virtual visa) normally I use to pay online shopping with it and it works. But I just tried to pay the fees (1190) and it is refusing it :(

Is this because it is Virtual Visa debit card ? or this is also my bank who is refusing it ?

My application is ready and now I am stuck with this stupid payment online, and to pay in a financial intuition I have to order a form that will take 2 weeks and more :O this is crazy, I want to give them money and they don't want it lolzzz

Seriously I am sucked as I don't have any credit card and I am new here in Canada and I don't know anyone . What to do ? will buying that prepaid Visa or Master card from super store will work ?

Thanks for your help , please this is urgent :(

Why not try calling your bank? Their customer service department should operate 24/7......they may be able to advise you on what to do...

I will call my bank tomorrow morning, I doubt that there is someone at the bank at 3 am lol I am at RBC

I just called my bank RBC I am amazed that at this time of night there are people who answer wow :D

Problem is not my Card it has a limit of 2 000 dollars, problem is the CIC maybe not accepting virtual Visa debit. There is list of merchants who accept it on Visa website and I dont see CIC in the list :( http://www.visa.ca/en/personal/visa-debit-card/visa_debit_merchants.jsp

Now what to do ?

Does anyone have experience with any prepaid Visa credit card that works ?

CIC accepts VISA cards. I use mine to pay my fees.

My Visa is a debit card. On top of that, it's a foreign Visa debit and it works inside Canada for CIC payments.

If you're paying inside Canada with a Canadian card and your bank claims it's not their fault, I would suspect they aren't being truthful. The average customer service rep at banking call centers aren't trained to understand the refusal codes - they always blame it on the merchant even when it's not the merchant's fault. Only higher trained employees will know the codes properly. You could try going into the branch, asking for an account manager. Explain the problem, have the manager look at your card. Once they identify the problem, try the payment again before leaving the branch if you can.

If you decide to try a pre-paid card, make sure it's refundable in case it doesn't work.
