Hi there! personally, i think age is jsut a number. i don't know your situation, but my husbadn is 12 years old than i am. i am 20 and he is 32... i don't really know how CIC looks at it but i'm sure if there is enough proof of your relationship to show that it's genuine then they can't deny you because of an age difference.

Income is not a factor at all for spousal sponsorship.
Are you sure? Because I have people saying it is. I'm on disability have been for years, and now in other forums they say it can be why I haven't received an approval because of my income my application of receipt is from Oct 2, 2017. They requested information on Nov 16 th was received and when I call they said there's nothing needed and there's no negative notes on file.. Its now 5 months in total my application has been in. They tell me to watch my emails. Ate you VERY certain in 2017 applying us the same thing as this post is from 2012??

Yes income is a factor but you only have to show that you are able to support yourselves without more help from the government. You are not allowed to sponsor if you receive welfare but you can sponsor if you receive disability. You may be asked for more detailed information on how you will support another person on a limited income.

Thank you so much, I'm sure my husband will find work so he also will be able to support our house with me, and can't wait to work when GE gets his pr card. Everything will work out by the grace if God.
P.s, its my 2 children, and his daughter its only his 12 year old daughter coming? Still no difference for income level? Do they not understand I have to claim them once there here with Disability and baby bonus? Cause if I Dont its fraud? I'm sure immigration is well aware his daughter will go on my benefits, as much as I hate to say it which also puts my income up, but that's the truth. So why give me such a long time to send the approval out I MET everything on the list, and he meets the requirements to he sponsored, plus we've been legally married 2 years and together 3.. Ugh the waiting us very very stressful on marriages and children . my self and my Canadian children just want my husband and my step daughter home in Canada with us. Its causing a lot of stress and tears and safety issues to begin with where he is because his daughter was shot and they killed her mother on fathers day and they have yet to arrest anyone.

A couple more questions that I just brainstormed...

Do the immigration officers look for things such as age differences? I worry that they may not think our relationship is genuine because my husband and I are 12 years apart in age. I'm 20 years old, and he is 32. Everyone thinks that's a really big age difference because in a sense it is, but if you knew my husband you would definitely not think he was 32... I just don't want them to think it was set up or anything like that. However, he is familiar with my family and I am familiar with his, so would that help any to prove our relationship is genuine?

Also, just out of curiosity... is it generally easier for US citizens to get accepted since Canada and the US are neighbouring countries, or does it not make a difference where you are from?
I wouldn't worry about the age difference.

My mom sponsored by step dad who is 11 years younger than her.

I am sponsoring my husband who is 8 years older than me.

Proving that it is genuine is the biggest hurdle - if you can do that you should be fine.

Don't worry about the income, for now. If it's an issue at all, it will be brought up later on in the process, and they will give you an opportunity to submit more documents/explanations. Order your GCMS notes to find out why it is taking so long. Other than that, your questions have been answered already.

They just confirmed on the phone it has arrived in Jamaica. Now what does that mean, ? I thought there's stage 1,2,3 CANADA. ?? I haven't even got a SA as yet. But it has arrived in his country.. Is that a good thing without any approval for me??

I honestly don't know what is the procedure now, given that they've transferred the file but you still haven't gotten SA yet. A file being transferred is definitely a good sign, as it is showing it's moving forward. Like Canuck said, if there is an issue with your income, it will be addressed later on in the process. You just have to wait now.

Thing is maybe its because I put still proceed with application regardless?
