My wife (my sponsor) lives outside Canada since she was 6y.

She never worked in Canada and now she sponsors me (outside Canada) and the only she said is that when I get the PR we are going to move in Canada asap and that she has a job offer.

We already have an answer that she met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor.
Now we are waiting for the 2nd Step (Assessment of Person Being Sponsored).

if i send in the original does it get sent back to me? or if i want it again do i just have to go and get a new one?
I strongly do NOT recommend sending original birth certificate and marriage certificates. The may or may not give it back to you and then you have to spend more money to get another one. We sent photo copies. And I got approved.

Our country specific guide (Philippines) specifically asks for original birth and marriage certificates for the sponsored person.

IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS
1) For the Philippines
The following original documents are required for you (principal applicant, regardless of age) and
for each of your dependent children, if applicable:
• Birth Certificate
• Marriage Certificate
• Death Certificate
• No record of marriage (CENOMAR) or Advisory on marriages
These documents must be issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) and printed on NSO paper.

If your country specific guidelines state to send originals, then do it.

I think most guides only ask for copies. For the China region guide, it asks for copies. We had all these important documents translated and notarized. We did not send originals of anything accept some birthday cards etc...

I am so full of questions! I was just wondering, i would like to go see my husband one more time in september before these forms get sent in... Now, doing that is gonna put a delay on me saving the other half of the money i need to pay for the applications. I planned to send them in at the end of September, but now i think we're looking at the beginning/middle of October. Now not only will I have to wait longer to get the money, but I also have to wait to get my police certificate in the mail which I don't think is going to happen before the end of september and of course i can't send in my application without that. I got my medicals done on August 15th, and from what I understand medical exams are valid 12 months from the date it was done but apparently if i'm not admitted as a permanent resident during that time I have to undergo another medical exam. How is this possible considering the process (for the United States) takes 13+ months itself, and will i still be safe to hand in my application at least by October? really hoping this will be okay since I had a terrible experience at the doctor's last time (320 dollars later) and don't really have the money to be dishing that out again. Thanks for all your patience and answers guys, means a lot.

does anyone else think it's a bad idea that i just say screw it and go back up to canada to be with my husband and just file my applications inland instead of outland? i came back to the US for the sole purpose of finishing school so that when i did finally become a permanent resident it would be easier for me to get a job, but since that's not going too well right now and my school is giving me a hard time about starting back up i'm thinking about just getting out of here and being where i am happy and being with who makes me happy.... my husband. i just can't take being apart from him any longer, especially with my current living situation. i had more up there with him than i do here with my father and my father makes way more than my husband. i just want this hurting to stop and i really want some personal opinions about the inland process :( :( :(

i just would like to know how exactly i can go about doing it inland... when i get to the airport and go through customs, what should i bring with me? should i tell them that we intended to do the outland application and that was why i came back but i found out unfortunately that i don't have the support i need at home and that i have the support i need in canada? just need to know what will satisfy the officer, i know they are all very different. but i wanna make sure i do this all right.

You don't have to file an Inland application just because you want to wait out the time in Canada. It is perfectly fine, and certainly more advisable time-wise, to file an Outland application. You are looking at a minimum of 11 months during which you cannot work, study or get healthcare, if you go Inland. If you go Outland, you could be a PR by that time. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you fully understand you will be a visitor: no working, no studying unless you apply separately for a study permit and pay international student fees, no healthcare unless you pay for it yourself (get travel insurance!).

When you cross the border, have whatever proof you can that you are proceeding with a PR application, such as a copy of your fees receipt, or the sponsor approval letter, if you have any of those. If not, bring proof you are preparing an application, and proof of your ties to the US.

Do NOT give the officers the impression you are moving in, and have no support back in the US, they can take this as a bad sign that if you are admitted you will overstay. Especially do not give the impression you have no reason to return to the US if you do not have any proof that you are filing a PR application. Don't bring a tonne of luggage and personal belongings either. It is entirely at the officer's discretion how long you get in for, and you don't want to give them the idea you won't leave if you must.

seems as if i'm much safer staying outland so that i have the things i need that i wouldnt be able to get if i stayed in canada, such as health insurance, school, work etc. and it also seems like its much more expensive to do it all inland especially if i want to have all of those things. i think i need to just tough this one out, and know that no matter what my husband will still be there by the end of all this. these are some really difficult decisions to have to make. i just can't wait to get the ball rolling and get everything in, i think that will make me feel much better about everything... but for now, times are hard and i really miss my husband : ( sucks to be a newly wed and only be with your spouse for 14 days after the wedding! :(

Marriage will always entail difficult choices and challenging decisions. When we add those choices and decisions associated with emigrating to another country to be with our spouses, we are really piling them on! You hit on the good news, though: at the end of it all, your spouse is waiting for you. Good luck with everything!
