Oh well now that you mention it I believe I’ve heard a similar comment and I wouldn’t mind waiting on the pr honestly but my question is how long do u honestly think that would take. Gimmi your honest opinion? :)

Processing for PR is around 2 years. Just clarifying whether you were included as dependent on her asylum claim or whether only included on her PR application as a dependent. Very different situations. If your passport was confiscated it would appear as though you are likely considered a protected person. If that is the case returning to your home country before having Canadian citizenships comes with huge longterm risks. Technically you could give up status and be sponsored again before age 22 but that will take time, cost money & comes with risk. Is your mother receiving welfare?

Yes even after PR. Getting asylum in a country and the benefits of being an asylum claimant comes with sacrifices. All of these things should have been considered by your family before traveling to Canada and making the asylum claim. There are many impacts of claiming asylum and being a protected person/refugee until you become a Canadian citizen but in exchange you get quite a lot of support and safety.
