Need help here, Im trying to apply for a Travel Document and it says that to start the process I should click on " Fill our Web Form" but when I do, there no form
it just takes me to another page with random information. can someone help with this? has anyone here applied for a refugee travel document before?
thanks in advance.

here's the page I talking about;

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/travel-documents-non-canadians/apply-how.html
I applied for and got my RTD in 3 weeks about 1-2 month ago.

It looks like you need urgent processing that why it gave you the webform as the first step. The website you're sent to after clicking 'fill our web form' is where you can get to the form, scroll down to 'update or ask about your application' and click it, then scroll down to 'other - see details' and click that then click 'continue to form'. provide all the information you can.

I prepared my RTD application and sent it first then followed up by webform and calling IRCC to see if they received it, starting processing it etc.

Also many ppl on this thread have detailed how to fill the application, read through that for any questions you may have.

good luck!

It was fast actually. I did apply and a month later they said that my photos are not acceptable. I sent new ones and they sent my old and new travel documents very fast.
It was not urgent and no travel date.
Hi @Canadian_rainbow, FYI, I secured a US visa on my refugee travel document, but my refugee travel document expires on 23 March 2025. I was supposed to travel to Kenya for my father's surgical treatment and needed a new refugee travel document. I applied on the webform on 24 Sep 24 for an urgent travel plan, but I still haven't received a reply from IRCC. I called them twice, and there was no update. So, I have two questions:
1. Should I apply through the normal route since the urgent one is not working?
2. To travel to the US what should be the validity of the RTD?
Thanks,

Thank you,
You are right, the instructions are unclear.

I would recommend preparing and sending your application ASAP through courier and following up with IRCC through calls to flag it as urgent. That is what I did and received it in 3 weeks.

Is this the process for the next step? Did you receive the same type of email after raising the web form?
Thanks again!

I never sent a webform before applying, only after applying so I did not receive instructions.
The email they sent you is the same text that is on their website about the process of applying for an urgent RTD.

I have supporting docs for my urgency. Should I send them along with my application?
Thanks again @ref19to22

Hi, I have a question. On 2 year RTD, what will be the validity of USA B1/B2 visa if I apply. Will it be 2 years or 10 years?

Hello everyone,

Just inquiring if anyone has had a similar experience. I sent my application for RTD by mail Canada post on August 21st. It was received August 23rd according to tracking information for Canada Post at PO BOX address in Ottawa for mail applications . On September 16th I called IRCC for update and was told my file not yet in system. IRCC agent asked for a tracking number from Canada post which I provided and said he would forward the information to passport office. I mentioned to him that if was urgent and on the application form I had indicated intended travel date as 1st October and stated that I have an ill relative I want to visit. Sent a webform on September 17th to follow up and received a response that the officer had taken appropriate action. I suppose by forwarding info to passport office to look for my application.
I called back IRCC on 20th September and the lady told me they have no new information and that it will take a while for them to find my application. I wonder what means.

My questions are:
- Is this a common experience for applications sent by mail and received to just not be found? Has anyone experienced this.?
- would sending a webform for urgent with a purchased ticket for travel dates and reason for travel help anything for them to search for my application quickly and start processing?
- would it help to include in the webform a receipt for proof of payment I made for the application as well as the tracking receipt from Canada post?

Kindly I need advice
Did you get your RTD?? I sent my application on sep 27 and they told me the same thing. Please let me know if you heard anything back .

Hi, I have a question. On 2 year RTD, what will be the validity of USA B1/B2 visa if I apply. Will it be 2 years or 10 years?
No one can know the validity period of the visa other than the US embassy, some get it for a few months others for many years.
I can just confirm that you need 6 months validity on your RTD to apply for a US visa.
