Please I need people to assist me by providing answers to the questions below;

1.I was in Canada in 2013 for 10 days on excursions. Will I include these 10 days as part of my physical presence?
2.In determining my physical presence calculation using cic calculator,I came to Canada in January 2014 with 6 months TRV,on getting to Canada, I made a refugee claim around February and I became a protected person in April. My question here is ,will I include the period I was a claimant before becoming a protected person as still part of my visiting period or I will ignore it? I. e between February and April 2014 when I was a claimant but my TRV was still valid though my passport was confiscated .
3.When i became a permanent residence,I travelled with my passport once to a third country and when it expired there after I renewed the passport here in canada in my country's high commission. Hope this will not have any negative effect in determining my citizenship?
Thanks in anticipation of your quick answers, suggestions and way forward.

First, There is a note in page 2 of new citizenship application that says you will not credited time between refugee claim and positive decision of protected person.
Second, you can go through the thread here for more detailed answer however you should be ok. But make sure you justify why you renewed it and why you used it to travel if someone asked you..

Hello everyone,

As I said a few months ago, I used my passport and travelled to my home country. I applied in December. And yesterday, I had the test and interview. The interview lasted for 5 minutes 30 seconds.
(Just to say: I am very very very stressed and anxious. I think, I've lost 5 lbs since I applied. The last days were the worst. If I only I knew..)
So the interview was very fast in my opinion. She asked :
- Are you still a student?
- where do you live? Are you married? Do you have kids?
- Now, let's talk about your travels. She checked the stamps, very quickly. And asked, "What do you mean by 'family matters'?".
- Do you have issues with the police or IRCC? Here or in another country?
She asked me to sign something then she added: "next step will be oath in 4 to 6 months. Before that, we will have to analyse your police certificate. If everything is fine, we will send you an invitation for the oath."

That's it. Am I less stressed/scared? No.

I will keep you posted.

This mostly looks good. You can probably relax some. Sure, no guarantees yet, but if IRCC was flagging refugee-PRs it is far more likely they would do so as early in the process as practical, to avoid wasting agency resources.

Thank you for the report and looking forward to your report that there is a Decision Made to be followed by being scheduled for the Oath. (Or, which hopefully does not need mentioning, which does not seem likely, and which hopefully does not happen, your report about what happens otherwise.)

Hello,

When I logged in today, I saw “decision made” for both of my applications: citizenship and renewal of PR Card.
(I applied for a renewal in January)

And yes, I will keep you posted, no matter what.
This appears to be about as positive an outcome as it could be. I will log this into the GREAT news category.

And it is good news for others in similar situations . . . recognizing that the particular details of the individual case can matter . . . that is, for example, more trips or longer trips, could make a difference in how it goes, but generally this is a very positive sign for those in a similar situation.

Again, thank you for keeping the forum posted. Almost certain this means CONGRATULATIONS are in order.

This is truly amazing. I'll drink a toast to you. I bet you feel a huge weight lifted off your chest.
this really gives me hope, at one point in time i felt like i was just waiting to be deported (same feeling i had before the refugee claim decision was made, but somehow even worse if that's possible), but your positive outcome gives me hope.
I submitted my citizenship application since October 16, took forever to even get an acknowledgement (february 21), and since then it has been on pause, but at least now i'm more hopeful.

Once again congrats

Thank you ImageofLight! I'm happy that my case gives you a little bit of hope. I can only imagine how you feel. I swear, these months were the longest of my entire life. I've never been this anxious. Wow. I think, i've read this whole discussion at least 3 times. Only 2 (or 3?) had positive response right? And they are not active anymore. Anyway, I will keep on praying, for me (oath), you and someone else reading this post ;) . *huge hugs*

Oh, I just read your first post!! You renewed your passport but never used it!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure everything will be fine!!!!!!!!!

@LadyA the amount of positiveness you gave to all this group is truly appreciated.. we can now at least function our normal life back until we all get DM like you.. you are a blessing :)
This is so true. Hope is something that I've been lacking for a while.

I funallf summoned the courage to call the IRCC call cebtce, and after a 30 minutes wait I got a polite Agent who said he was going to check on my file, came back after 15 mins and said he had some good news, and that all my background cjecchand security checks (sic) had been completed without any issues and I should expect to get an invitation for test from the Mississauga office soon.

Not the same as getting a test invite, but I'd say it's the next best thing, and the fact that he said there were no issues from the background check.... Let's just say I'm going to be a lot more cheerful this week (while keeping my fingers crossed).

So thanks LadyA once again for sharing.
