Received TRV after 13 months but passport expires soon !

Hi Everyone,

I applied for Tourist Visa from Qatar on March 25th 2022, and finally received it today on April 19th 2023, 13 months later !
Now my issue is that my passport will expire soon, and I know that Canada issues the Visa as long as the passport validity. So I was wondering if it would be possible to renew my passport in the 30 days timeframe they give us to submit it, and send them the new passport. But the problem is i think the passport number would be different.

Can anyone advice what to do please ! There's no point in getting the Visa for a few months I'd have to re-apply again and based on my experience we all know how long that takes !

That will be fine, as far as you can get the new passport and submit within the 30days time frame. You'll attach a letter, your old passport and new passport for submission. Congratulations!

Hi, thank you for your response. Are you 100% sure of this ? Because once I renew my passport, the previous one under which I submitted my visa will get cancelled. So I just want to be 100% sure of this info before I proceed.

i have a same issue but i already renewed my Passport . I contact them and thy told me when i receive the approved i ned to send both passports together dont worry just renewal your passport

may you told us when you got Correspondence Letter (BVL)?
