My full documents to CHC-Islamabad in March 2010 and i received 2 AOR on 16 April 2010. ECAS shows "Received by Visa Office" pending review.

when should i expect is in "IN PROCESS"

WHAT IS 2ND AOR? WHAT U GOT IN 2ND AOR. PLZ EXPLAIN???

Hi Khuwaja
2nd AOR is the Acknowledge of receipt,which is issued by the visa office where you have submitted you complete application.
It contains your new file no in it and some other details of the process.once you have received this 2nd AOR you can use this file no and check youe Ecase status.

I checked with my employer about the verification from chc,and i was told that no verifications what so ever have been done so for.
i dont know what the hell they are checking then,and why they are taking so long then?

i know it will sound a bit nasty, bit the truth is if u r from a country like mine where many people immigrate illegally & as a result many people get rejected for student visa based on the CHC's assumption (not based on fact) that the student visa APPLICANT WONT COME BACK TO HIS/ HER HOME COUNTRY.

as u said that u already know about the dual intent, then u know that u will have to show as much ties as possible to convince the visa officer that u will come back like on going business, bought property, spouse-kids-old parents & the list goes on.

i don't know what u mentioned in ur application for PR, like did u show that u have any relative in Canada to claim points for adaptability or any ties with Canada, then it is a near impossible task to get the student visa approved by CHC as i think, they store ur file for PR & when they input any data from ur student visa application, the info from ur PR applicaton might show up. but i am not sure if they actually cross check with any of ur exixting application.

the summary is u won't know until u apply for the student visa as all the info i said is hypothetical & it might turn up that ur student visa application may b successful. if i were u, i would wait until the PR visa is approved (which i don't think will be decided b4 September).

Hey Guys, I think i might be needing some suggestions from this forum

I submitted my application in January 2010 to london, up till now its still receeived by visa office.

I want to start my degree in Canada this september. I thought i would be through with this application before then.

So now i am seriously doubting if anything would happen before september when my course starts so I am thinking of applying for a students visa.
Issue now is how do i convince the VO that i will come back. I know all about the dual intent thing, but this PR application makes it very dicy.

Any thoughts folks...??

For me it is also same they did not check my job experience bcoz even i am in touch with all past employers in dubai
but they did not check. they r check our back ground regarding security only and nothing else.

Thanks for the response. I am actually rounding up my masters in Scotland and No I am not from Asia. I am African.
I have scholarship for my program in Canada which I will lose if I don't enroll this year. I actually deferred it last year as I was not ready.

I already have a job offer but I very well doubt if they will wait for me to finish my 16 Month Program in Canada. And If i am to choose between Permanent residence and My education, I will choose my education.

I understand ur point.

u won't know what outcome u will get until u apply. as u said u will choose ur education, let's apply & wait for the best. after understanding the whole story behind ur education, if i were u with a scholarship offer, i would also choose education as if u go there as student, still u can apply for PR after ur study.

but plz remember to show as much home ties as possible to increase the chance of getting the student visa office.

As our Visa office has been moved to London from Islamabad Pakistan so how are the job verifications going to be performed?? because there is a significant time difference between pak and london !! kindly throw in your comments and guesses..

My ecas showed IN PROCESS on MARCH 31st and since then i heard nothing from CHC London. Should I send an enquiry or should i Wait for 3 months from In process. The postal system in Saudi is not reliable and so I am afraid if any mail from CHC london will be missed / delayed. is it possible that due to Volcanic ash, flights delayed our postal mail can be delayed for those living outside UK?

well it depends chc to chc in some case u can get in one to two weeks,in some cases it might take 4 to 6 weeks.in my case it took almost 6 weeks n my chc is London.

In my opinion there is no harm to send a case specific enquiry as u have waited for 1 1/2 months.

even if they check security and back ground it should not talk that long.thats is their daily routine work and they know how to do it,so in my opinion it should be fairly quickly.3 to 4 months are hell of time to do all this.anywyas what else can we do but to wait wait and wait.

but they do deep security check and get it by different agencies from different countries.
For some nationality it is easy but others they take time.
