Forumites, need an clarification on the following issue.

My sons passport is expiring in august next year. I am planning to land next march. I am sending his current passport for stamping. But before going there should I need to renew his pp.i read somewere that during the last six months of pp duration one cant travel. Is it correct? If so can he travel on the renewed passport as the old passport will be attached with the renewed one. Will it be an issue at the time of landing. And for the ones who received copr does it contain passport details.

Can we travel if we have a valid visa but pp validity is less than 6 months?

"If an expired passport contains a valid visa counterfoil, the counterfoil can still be used
since the expiration of the passport has no effect on the visa's validity. Holders of a valid
visa may continue to use their visa until the date it expires even if the visa is in an
expired passport. Visitors can fulfil the visa and passport requirements by presenting
both the renewed and expired passports containing the valid visa counterfoil to a BSO
when seeking entry into Canada. The Regulations state that visas should not be issued
longer than the validity of the passport. However, due to pre-IRPA cases, it is possible to
encounter visas in expired passports"

I need some precious and kind advice regarding my matter. My application received to CIC on October 27, 2014 and received AOR on January 29, 2015. Since that time only one status is updated on site i.e.
We received your application for permanent residence on October 27, 2014.

Up until one week ago Second line updated i.e.
We started processing your application on January 14, 2015.

What this supposed to mean?

Any help is deeply appreciated and thanks in advance.

Dear Yesh007p,

Generally applications with addition of dependent always take time. You can comfortably add 2-4 months for same. Hope you got confirmation from VO that the new born was added and no further action is required from your end. If so, all fine. Also I suggest you raise a CSE now requesting status of the application.

The issue is the background check where all time is taken if documents are in order.

Hi Guys,

[size=40pt]FINALLY After 15 Months and 14 Days of stressful and impatient wait I am grateful to announce that finally I have received the Passport Request Letter for my application under FSW 2014 on Friday, 21st August, 2015. It was really unbelievable moment for me. All emotions together.

Timeline is as below:
App Date: 07-05-2014
PER: 07-08-2014
2nd Line: 12-09-2014
MR: 12-09-2014
Telephone Verification: 17-07-2015. Mainly concerns due to company website down. Call was on office landline.
PPR: 21-08-2015
Medical and Visa expires: 6th October
VO: NDVO

As expected, Firstly I got the call to confirm if I am ready to land by 6th October or not. Since I was mentally prepared so I said yes and the lady said that we will send the PPR soon and you should send passports by VFS. After 20 minutes I got the PPR.

I have sent the passports via VFS today morning.

Thanks a lot guys

Dear Ali75,

Things are in order, don't worry. Earlier ECAS used to get updated with the date when MR request is sent but nowadays the trend shows its the date when actually VO started working with your application.

However this update is a good news as well, you should get MR request anytime soon.

1) what are possible questions that immigration authorities at Delhi/Mumbai can ask ? what to say when they ask me that am I going to return back to India ? or am I going to surrender my Indian passport?

Unless you have worked for a government organisation things should be easy. If you work/ed for government organisation then you might be asked about relieving orders or leave certificates. Other than that they might ask random questions such as where are you going, why are you going, etc..

2) Do we also have to go via immigration at our halt points such as london/munich .. or we only go through security checks at stopovers?

If the transit is in the same airport, you don't have to undergo immigration clearance in either munich or London. Things are different if anyone transit through US of A.
