Hey rahul,
It was too useful
....plus felt good to finally meet some of the friends in the forum like sk, archana_ramar, webdev, etc....
Difficult to describe the session actually...they give info abt the diff. provinces of canada and their job prospects, then perspectives abt 'Canadian' work-ex- how to bridge the gap, Canadian-format resume, info. abt bridging programs/ college studies , and connect u to their Canada-based specific partners for volunteering , mentorship , internship , job preparedness opportunities, and also inform abt Settlement topics, kids' schooling, housing and all....One day is for an Overall presentation and another day they prepare a Personalized Action Plan containing all the info and links for each person....we just had that 2nd session today, we r yet to get our own Action sheets..At the end, u get a Participation Certificate
It was an eye-opener..many things i didn't know...a little scary actually, how much prep is required....Recommend everybody to attend it...
Yes u can open scotiabank account, do a SWIFT transfer and get a bank account statement that you can use for POF...keep in mind, the process will take at least 30 days from start to finish so start early....You can begin the Application process online in case scotiabank is not in ur city.....I'm not doing it bcos I'm not sure of which branch I want to open the a/c in (you have to specify the canadian branch where u will go after u land and activate the account)...
