I got a call from our lawyer tonight regarding my husband's application (inland spousal sponsorship) as its been 30 months since the application had been filed. He called to say that the RCMP has denied giving CIC clearance 5 times, and that for some reason they aren't giving him the clearance, and that its the only thing holding up getting DM at this point.

My husband says he has never been in trouble legally in Canada since he has been here so why would the RCMP be holding up giving him security clearance if he has a clean record in Canada?

Will your nightmare EVER end?!

Maybe there's more to this story that your hubby's not telling you.

I can't think of a good reason why the RCMP would be doing this.

Good luck!

thanks Ponga. It truly feels like a never ending nightmare. My husband says there is nothing at all he is hiding. The lawyer also mentioned that CSIS is now involved and there have been a number of inquiries on with CIC as to the status of the application and he said this is not helping as its raising red flags with CSIS but we've only inquired once and so has our lawyer so its concerning who else is making these "inquiries"
