It's a bit restricted here, unless you are a Permanent Resident which takes about 15 years for my case. Other visas here makes your stay here uncertain, had a lot of my friends sent back home last year.
Also, little things like Driver's license tied to your visa end date and which they don't renew it unless your visa extension is approved, that's like 6-9 months of wait period. You pretty much have to have a separate state ID (which we don't get if we have a DL) or carry your passport just to have a beer.
Plus, it's weird here to work as a summer intern also, had to cough up about 1.2k USD just for the work permit. Just like those scam companies back in India where you have to pay them just to have a job
Don't get me started with the health care, got the flu one time, paid 300 USD, even with insurance :/
